The Flip Tube echo was cool, but didn't get "greasy" enuff for me. Nice for a digital delay, but still a DIGITAL delay. In this category, I thought the Line 6 Echo Park did a better job of a digital pedal trying to mimic analog.
I recc the Maxon AD-999... analog...nice lo-fi, slighty dirty repeats. Plenty of "grease." You can crank the level up pretty high & the repeats never get in the way. Best delay I've ever owned. I prefer this over the AD9 because it has enough delay time to do "Sleepwalk"... the AD9 only has 450ms, which is a little short.
I will also throw the Dan-Echo into the mix. It's digital, but the hi-cut knob does a good job of making it sound analog. I don't like it as much as the AD-999, but it's a solid pedal.
