Check out Lee and the bass guitar. Although saying that they looked like they were in great form .

Haha... You're right, it doesn't look right. When the Cats played Oslo in 92, Lee played a Gretsch electric bass on one or two tracks, and that at least matched Brian's guitars. I don't have anything against electric basses, but IMO Lee's a slap bass man.

Even if I really like that gig (Tokyo, may 1990) I have to say that Lee playing electric bass... No, it's almost like to say they're not Stray Cats anymore.

I've not watched that concert for a little while but if I remember correctly, Lee plays electric bass on - Let's Go Faster Summertime Blues Somethin' Else
I actually don't mind at all and if I'm not mistaken, there's quite alot of electric bass on the Let's Go Faster album. Production aside, perhaps that's also a reason why that album doesn't seem to resonate with fans as much as their other albums?

I think you are right Steb (and right too for the 3 tracks on Rock Tokyo). One of the reasons Let's Go Faster failed is the electric bass. I remember a gig in Paris in 1990. Each time Lee took the electric bass, people were angry and shouted.

Yes i prefer Lee Slappin' and Howlin' on the double bass! But the most shocking thing about that gig is Brian's hair!!!!

ever thought that Lee was just plain bored of that big ass box, and wanted to kick it punk rock.. Setzer's sporting a poodle-hawk and Slim jim looks like he's part of Frankie goes to hollywood...
fun stuff, thanks for sharing man!

Actually he looks pretty happy playing the P bass, much more freedom to run around.

Haha, I actually don't mind it man When I saw the Cats play a month or so later in London that year, his hair had grown back more at the sides and looked much better. There's a kind of punk-ish vibe to it which I think is pretty cool.

Yeah ! I saw the Cats in Paris in june 1990 (one month later) : it was better but still a little punk (with his red braces). I have liked this haircut. He was probably the only guy to can wear this !
