They really did not appear to care about the plethra of cameras.
The Mrs. and I got a spot on the rail of the balcony, and we had a pretty darn good view of the entire show/crowd. We saw MANY cameras out the entire night. The only downside of our location...
A big speaker blocking the view of Mr. Slim Jim Phantom.
And, was that 2 or 3 encores? Someone may want to step in and set me straight there.

Kelley, it's a very old instrumental - i believe from the 1930's. It's what they call 'traditional'. There have been many covers of it since. I'm not sure who originally wrote it but Setzer's version is pretty cool.
Thanks BK for those photos! Hey i reconize a few of those cats!!!

Kelley, that's Black Mountain Rag, and as Steve said, it's an old, "traditional" song. Have no idea who recorded it first, but Chet Atkins did it on an album as early as 1953, according to All Music Guide.
BTW, this was the first time I've heard Brian play it with a band (and not just ANY band, for that matter) Awesome!
I found a couple of other cool versions on youtube as well: Doc Watson Chet Atkins (not embedding them, because they're kinda off-topic... right? )

Hey guys!
Looks like ya'll had a spectacular time! Thanks for sharing all the pics and video. BK--congrats on getting the "hook-up" for you and your lovely bride to see the Cats. Bear--nice shirt!
Good to see you guys all had a chance to meet before the show. Brian, Jim and Lee look like they were having lots of fun on stage. The musical chemistry between those guys is amazing.
So, in your opinion, what were some of your favorite moments of the night?
Happy to see you guys having a great time! hrg

Someone had asked if the setlist looked like one on the Setlist Archive Page.
Just off the top of my head, here is what I know was played last night. Order may not be exactly correct, but, here is as much as I can remember
Rumble In Brighton Seven Nights To Rock Somethin's Wrong with my Radio Guitar Rag (Brian solo) Cry Baby (Brian and Lee Rocker: co-lead vocals) Stray Cat Strut Lust N Love Runaway Boys (She's) Sexy + 17 Gene & Eddie Sleepwalk Gina Sweet Gene Vincent Bring it Back Again (Lee Rocker: lead vocals) Blast Off 20 Flight Rock Fishnet Stockings Rock This Town Please Don't Touch 18 Miles to Memphis Something Else
Again, please correct/edit/add if I missed/Messed up something!

Hey everybody! We just got home - kids and dogs have yet to be picked up, and Mrs. Bear is resting, so it's just me and you.
We got to the Minnie about 1.5 hours before church, so we had some time to drive around and get the lay of the land. The campus ministry we attended (True North Campus Ministry) is renting space in a former Bible-college building which is adjacent to the U of M campus. It's a cool old place with a skylight dome and incredible fixtures and woodwork inside. There weren't many students in attendance - most were home for the Easter weekend. But it was a very nice service, and we had a great visit with Pastor Joe.
After that it was off to Psycho Suzi's for lunch. I did take some pics, but to be honest, they aren't nearly as good as the ones on the website. And besides, I don't know how to get them onto Flickr anyway!
Then we headed to downtown and the Radisson Hotel. Being the hick that I am (my idea of a traffic jam is three cars lined up at the stop sign), it was a bit of an ordeal, but there was no screaming or dented fenders, and I'm still alive to type the tale. We had a little nap before heading to the meeting place, just down the street from the hotel. On our way through the lobby to go to the meetup, a guy stopped me and asked if I was from out of town (which was kind of a funny question, since everything about me pretty well screams TOURIST!) He introduced himself as Dave Kaplan, a name I recognized from CD liner notes as The Brian's manager! So that was my brush with celebrity for the evening.
We happened to be the first ones at the restaurant. I gave the young lady the 'secret password' for our group, and she had no idea what I was talking about. She asked, "Why don't you just look around and see if your friends are here?" To which I replied, "I have very litle idea what they look like!" I'm very thankful that my forum friends are now real people, and not just 1's and 0's!
Enjay07 arrived next, then BethAnn, Rickabilly, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnnykool327. The long-distance champ in our group was Weaser, all the way from California! After getting acquainted for an hour or so, we started heading over to the Fine Line, which was just a few blocks away. Before we leave the restaurant, though, I should say we saw a young couple at a booth just behind us. We had a pretty good idea what their plans were for later that evening, as the young man had a blond pomp that stood a good four or five inches high. His girlfriend came over and asked if we were going to the show. They were from Sweden!
There was quite a line outside the Fine Line. On my way to the end of the line, I spotted daddio66in2008, and said a quick hello. When we finally got to the end of the line, it was about 7:15, 45 minutes to the doors opening. We passed the time chatting and watching the scalping action. I was very curious about what prices were being fetched, but I'll probably never know.
Once inside, we reconnected with enjay, Rickabilly, and BethAnn. The JohhnyKools were right above us in the balcony. Our position was about four or five rows from the stage (BethAnn, of course, was right at stage-side; she told me before the show that it doesn't even count unless she's right in front!)
It really was fantastic seeing the Cats play in such a small place. As johnny said in an earlier post, there was no effort whatsoever to inhibit people from taking pics and videos. In fact, I almost wish there had been - there were a couple of guys with their cameras in my way for much of the show. Rick's cool - he knows how to do it without being obnoxious, and he wasn't doing it constantly. But those other guys...I wanted to tell them to quit watching the camera and watch the show!
(Kelley - take a deep breath, maybe get a glass of water, and sit down.)
These guys really looked fantastic, and had great energy. I saw the Oneida show in '07, and this was better. I recall reading a review from an Australian show (maybe New Zealand? well whatever) that described Brian as pudgy, but I have to say he was in great shape. Jim was off the hook as usual, jumping around like he's about 19. BethAnn actually helped keep him from falling offstage! You'd have thought he'd learn a lesson from the European tour! Lee looked as fit and b@d@$$ as ever, and Brian was having the night of his life. We sang Happy Birthday to him twice, and he showed off one of his presents, which I think he said he got from Jim - a DVD of one of the old Mets players on "How To Play Better Baseball".
It really was a great night. I'm so thankful I got to be a part of it. And it wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without my forum buddies to share it with!
