Hi everyone,

Has anyone else heard this? It was on the radio earlier this week that lawn seats are now half price. There should be a good hometown vibe, as Chris Isaak is originally from nearby Stockton.

I'm mostly a BSO fan, but I did see 68CBS once, and I'm leaning more toward attending this show. Additionally, Mrs. T Man's parents own a vacation home less than an hour away.

If some of you can talk me into going to this show, perhaps I can talk my in-laws into hosting a few of you for either the night before or after.

You might even get to meet baby D Man. Born June 18, 2009, 7 pounds 13.7 ounces, 21 inches long.

Regards,

T

I have heard that you will get two tickets for the price of one, means for $ 22.50.
I read that on the concert's homepage where you can buy the tickets online. You can't buy there single lawn tickets...

Can you confirm.....we art talking about the show on 6th September here?

I'm still beating myself up here about SHOULD I GO!!!!!

I do have some work commitments & other expenditure to worry about during Setember.......however

It is my birthday around this time & I can't think of a better way to spend it by going to see Brian Setzer. Current thoughts are:

Negatives - can't persuade any of my friends to come along
I would be travelling all the way from the UK...to San Francisco/Sacramento maybe Las Vegas (thats maybe positive)
Work commitments
Financial Commitments
Short time to sort hotels out

Positives - Get to SEE & HEAR BRIAN SETZER........

What do you reckon folks.......should I stay or should I go?

yes we are talking about the September 6 show, still being offered at 2 for 1 on lawn tickets.

Things aren't looking good for my attendance. I have several other commitments on that weekend.

As for coming in from a long distance, it really depends on how big a fan you are. It is likely that Brian and the Nashvillains will probably have a shorter set than Chris Isaak, my guess is between 40 and 60 minutes. It depends on whether Brian is considered an opening act or a co-headliner. The fact that Chris Isaak is from nearby Stockton suggests the former, but there are no guarantees.

If you are including this as part of a larger visit to California and Nevada, there is no shortage of cool things to do in the general vicinity. Yosemite National Park is about two or three hours from Murphys. Lake Tahoe is about two or three hours. San Francisco is about three hours. The closest major airport is Sacramento, again about two hours away. Other than frequency of flights, Sacramento is a much more user-friendly airport than any of the other Northern California airports. Las Vegas is probably about 10 or 12 hours from Murphys. Los Angeles is about eight hours from Murphys. In the immediate vicinity, there are lots of opportunities for wine tasting, gold panning, and fishing. There are also cavern tours, some of which offer gem hunting opportunities. Additionally, there is the Calaveras Big Trees State Park. The entire Sierra foothills has a cool small town rustic vibe.

Happy travels,

T
