Dude, it was awesome!
I only have kind words for all the Cats, made my year that's for sure.
The friendships we made were the best part, even though I gotta admit when Brian sent a hello on stage out to Sam and myself, and then said to me that he knew who I WAS(!) blew my mind!
Just needed another Yankee drinking partner...........

So tell me you wild Aussies! After all of those years of waiting (and the THOUSANDS of emails your countrymen sent me! lol!) were Stray Cats worth waiting for? Did you all have fun?

Haha I am guilty of this, pretty sure I first started emailing you the whole 'when will the stray cats tour Australia?' thing when I was about 14.. oh the days when I was young Razz Then I started to religiously email all of the big promoters in Australia about bringing the cats here - I did this for a couple of years.. yeah, you can all thank me later Razz

To answer your question - YES IT WAS BLOODY WORTH IT!

"Sherm" is a neighborhood pal who's in night college. When he said he wanted to do a paper on rocka-racism I told him to do some research and that posting here could perhaps give him an insight. He did have some bad experiences at a local rockabilly bar a couple of years ago and I guess that's where the idea came from. No worries, his heart is in the right place.

Anyway....everyone knows that rockabilly is a derivative of the blues so if you're a rockabilly racist, you'd have to be more stupid than the average "really rockabilly".

Glad to hear it Pete and Liana. No doubt. The last Cats' show that I saw (London 2008) was not only the best Stray Cats show I ever saw, it may very well have been the best show I've ever seen...period.

Dry eyed,
Budge

We have a new Song for the Hoodoovoodoo Jam:

Budgies true story:

Cry, cry, cry whoa-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Cry, cry, cry whoa-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh

There is a story yeah
That I must tell
Of two lovers
That I bewail
Now they must cry, cry
Cry whoa-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Their blues away
(Cry cry cry their blues away)

Her name was Blobby (alternative: Budge) yeah
His name was B
His love was Rockabilly
She's a wonderful girl
But they must cry, cry
Cry whoa-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Their blues away
(Their blues away)

Love will make you happy
And love will make you cry
Love will make the tears fall
When your lover says goodbye

And then you'll cry, cry
Cry whoa-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Your blues away
(Cry cry cry their blues away)

This story ends yeah
It was no lie
Names have been changed dear
To protect you and I

But we must cry, cry
Cry whoa-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Our blues away
(Cry cry cry)
Mmm (whoa-uh our blues away)
We must cry
(Cry cry cry whoa-uh our blues away)

Nice to see ya Tommy =) Very Happy
How's family?

Then you could also promote your book in europe^^
Budgie can join in aswell so I can make it up to him.

My name is Chris, I'm just tryin' to be a better person lol!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh....German beer! I'll be happy to have MANY with you any time, any place. Budge is welcome but he'd better leave his baseball glove at home. Just in case he has more "troubles".

Well if you ever come to Germany anywhere near Munich, don't hestitate to contact me and we'll have loads of them.

"Budgie's true story" isn't even Rockabilly, it's Doo-Wop, so it doesn't have to start with "weeeeeeeeeeel lol!

Hey you guys!

Have any of you picked up that new 8 CD Eddie Cochran box set from Bear Family? I lost my mind and plunked down the money 2 weeks ago. The set is amazing of course and the book that comes with it is just insanely informative....but ya know what I found on there that I never knew existed?! Eddie playing guitar on a Johnny Burnette session! I thought I knew all the Eddie trivia out there, but I did NOT know that. So cool.
