| I hate to break it to you, Tavo, but the Stray Cats album depicted on your wall was the children's classic "Stray Cat Fluff" from Peter Pan Records (or was it Pickwick?) and was a sequel to the canine classic "Benji Sings!" The Stray Cats' first piece of vinyl didn't even hit the UK until November 1980.
However, the album with the kittens did anticipate a Setzer career shift by some 23 years with a Christmas medley on side two, featuring "Have Yourself a Meowy Little Christmas."
I definitely had that hair in 1979, though I'm extremely jealous of the rainbow shirt!

| Tavo, you're adorable! I love the rock god stance!! I didn't catch on to Stray Cats for another 3 years after you. I SO wish I still had the 1983 pic of me in my Stray Cats t-shirt. I did, however, find a photo from 1980, at my Dad's wedding. I was 7, possibly 6 (can't remember what month they got married). This was before braces... (edit: going back to my old avatar to see the side by side. Ha!!)

| I don't think the Bay City Rollers had anything to do with this: Maybe it was the Village People: Young Man! There's a place you can go... Macho-billy | |

| Tavo, I had the companion rainbow DRESS that went with that shirt. We would've made a really cute couple in 1979. I appreciate everyone's bravery for posting pics from your youth! No way in $*&! I'm brave enough to post anything from that era. You all have good pics, though! Rickabilly had such a nice family to host one of the Village People! Any other famous folks you've played host to over the years? Elvis? Ringo? Buddy? | |

| Cool picture, and great hair I heard of the Stray Cats for the first time in 1981 (13 years old). Remembering being in West-Berlin on holiday, and seeing Stray Cats and Kim Wilde on the same TV-show (Kids in America/Rock this town). Also remebering seeing some rockabillies in Berlin the same summer, wishing I could look just like them. At the time I was listening to Elvis, Matchbox, Shakin Stevens (I was a big Shaky fan), and all traditional rock'n'roll from the 50's. In the late 70's early 80's you could go down to a record shop finding Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent records. Might seams strange these days, but the music was only 20-25 years old at the time. I knew the word rockabilly of cause, but groups like the Stray Cats, Polecats, Deltas ect tought me what rockabilly was all about. Cheers Jess | |

Jess Yeah he had a great guitar player Mickey Gee. You kids looked great back then!! This was me in 1985! Fan since day one and here I play with my band. Let's see I was about 20 and the guitar was the closest I could get to a Gretsch 6120. It had the magic f-holes!! It's an Ibanez AM50 for the ones who wanna know. It was a top 100 band so we didn't play any Cats music. So we played Police, Level 42, Ub40 stuff. But not the real thing haha... My hair was almost pomp like. I never realy got me a pompadour. Never wore cat clothes neither... But I'm Brian's biggest fan. Rock on Cats! | |

| It occurs to me that the title of this thread could actually mean that we're all 30 year fans of Setzer's stand up comedy act. | |
