Setzer Fans One Good Thing: Bidding Empty
PostSubject: Setzer Fans One Good Thing: Bidding   Setzer Fans One Good Thing: Bidding Icon_minitimeSat Aug 29, 2009 4:48 pm

I am cancelling the One Good Thing SSLVO auction/proceeds giveaway.

For those that are still interested, the guitar will be put on eBay sometime next week and the proceeds donated to the VH1 Save The Music program. Thank you for your participation.

My Gretsch Brian Setzer G6120SSLVO is now officially for auction to the highest bidder. Proceeds of the auction will go to a recipient or recipients to be chosen by members of the Hoodoo Voodoo Lounge Message Board. Somebody gets a fantastic guitar, somebody else gets a nice cash boost, and we ALL get some serious warm fuzzies. That's One Good Thing for everybody. 'Cause Brian Setzer fans rock!

THE SSLVO: Photos are here. It's a 2005 model, only lightly played by a total amateur, has some light guitar-stand scratches and some nicks and scratches on the back and headstock. Comes with the original bridge as well as the Aluminum Tru-Arc bridge that I have currently installed on it (not shown in the pics). I'm keepin' the case with the stickers on it but will ship the guitar to the high bidder in the case that my new Hot Rod came in. I will add more pics to the photoset as bidders request them.

BIDDING is open now and will close at 6pm Pacific Time on October 1, 2009. Anyone can bid on the guitar, but I ain't puttin' it on eBay or anything like that. Bids can be made in this thread, via private message, or via email [ahazelwood at gmail dot com]. (Tell me if you want to keep your bid anonymous.) Remember, the higher the bid the better we as Brian Setzer fans are doing for one of our own or for a charity, so bid this baby up.

More details here.

I have added some additional photos to the photoset - showing all the nicks and scratches the guitar has picked up since living with me. And while it isn't shown in the photoset, the guitar does come with the original Setzer pickguard.

Unless you have a bid from a PM, I will be glad to get the ball rolling.

I don't have much, but I bid 50$ to get this going.

Thanks BK, you are our first bidder Smile

Some more about the guitar: I paid $2000 for it on eBay, purchased through my husband's eBay account from Rocky Street Sounds on November 3, 2008 (it is a 2005 model but it obviously had never been used, still had the plastic on the pickguard and truss rod cover, etc). Rocky Street Sounds has an excellent reputation amongst the Gretsch community and they are an authorized Gretsch dealer. As with many Gretsches sold by Rocky Street Sounds, THIS GUITAR CAME WITHOUT THE GRETSCH GUARANTEE (actually, that's not entirely true. It came with all the "stock" Gretsch paperwork including the brochure about Hilo'Tron heads, the new Gretsch Neo Classic Fingerboard, the Gretsch Guitar Guide... and the guarantee for a DIFFERENT Gretsch. When I emailed Rocky about it I said I knew it wasn't supposed to come with a guarantee but it had one for a different serial number - asked him if he needed it and he said no). I'll ship the guitar with all the bits and pieces and paperwork that it came with from Rocky Street Sounds.

Woo hoo! Thank you Sharky!

Bidders, don't forget to nominate someone to get the cash - makes sense that the people paying the money should have some say in where the money goes!

It's a great idea, but I'm not sure we know enough about each other to know who really needs the money.

I have heard some about Kid's school and TV's "almost" move, and I know what I am dealing with, but I don't know much about any one else.

I agree with Scott, it's hard to nominate someone when you don't know the financial situation of people on the board.. But Andi suggested in another thread it doesn't have to be someone who 'needs' the money, it could just be someone who you like from the board, who you would like to see recieve the money, who you might think will use the money for something good Very Happy

Mandi has kept the board running smoothly for years with HER OWN MONEY !!!! She's brought and kept us together for a long, long time.

If it weren't against the rules, I'd nominate her without her permission . . .

Just a thought.

oh...I see the lawsuits coming...

BTW - This giveaway or whatever you want to call it has absolutely nothing to do with the HDVDL and the owners of HDVDL. We take no responsibility or liability.

Fair enough, One Good Thing has nothing to do with the Hoodoo Voodoo Lounge and you aren't liable or responsible.

But c'mon folks, we're better than that. There is absolutely no reason this needs to be a train crash, and in fact I think comments to that effect will only breed the expectation that it will be. I will clarify the rules in the announcement thread and the nomination thread - if they're followed, this will go smoothly.

Now, this is the bidding thread, and currently the high bid is $900 from Spanishdavid. Do I hear $1,000?
