PS - I will soon try to add all the REGULAR singles that have been released (not the promos unless they are worth mentioning for whatever the reason, otherwise this would be endless!!)

How about this one? Looks official to me... I just discovered it yesterday, hadn't seen it before. Should be squeezed in between "Lady Luck" and "Jump Jive An' Wail". On the other hand, it's just as much a promo for the movie. But it's a video clip per se, so I think it ought to be included. Good work, by the way!

Oh Man!! Thanks Anders! I just watched - that was fun!! I love BSO videos. I love that the band is all Santas. I love the fact that in just about every shot Brian's suit changes from red w/green trim to green w/red trim, the guitar occasionally changes, sometimes in the sleigh or Chevy his suit is silver, sometimes gold.... and of course getting the guitar from Santa is frickin' adorable
I actually found a version that's slightly higher quality for those of us that downl- uh- appreciate that kind of thing.

Well done, Jon!
Of course, we all jump right to the message board here, but the Hoodoo Voodoo Lounge does have other pages on this website, including lyrics, photos, links, etc. Most of this hasn't been updated in years, but valuable information like this probably warrants its own page.
Do you think the various re-issues are worth including on the list? I'm thinking specifically of the re-worked Japanese Guitar Slinger album from 2002, where the US and Japanese releases are basically combined. Also, from 2008, the EMI budget label Knife Feels Like Justice/Live Nude Guitars CD, where both albums are squeezed onto one CD, but The Rain Washed Everything Away is washed away from the tracklisting. I hate this edition, as not only is one song cut, there's no remastering whatsoever, and the LNG tracks are a lot quieter than the Knife tracks.
And then there's the 4 retail versions of Boogie Woogie Christmas: Kmart, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, the 2003 Target exclusive reissue with Christmas Island and Santa Drives a Hot Rod and the final-we-really-mean-it-this-time 2004 edition with Cactus Christmas and Run Rudolph Run... my brain turns to nog just thinking about it.
I suppose re-issues are probably worth listing if there is different musical content on it, but ones like the 2008 Blast Off and Rock Therapy reissues with liner notes written by Lee Rocker may not be.
Anyway, we appreciate all your hard work on these lists, Jon. Ever since the Setzer Universe went Maguire-less, good info like this has been hard to come by.

Hey Rick, thanks a heap for your comments, very much appreciated. I agree with you in some points, but as you can see, anytime I mentioned a re-issue was mainly because it added something different. IMO that 2002 edition to Guitar Slinger (cannae remember whether I've included) is valuable, but not the re-issues to Blast Off in 2008, but I consider valuable the one of 2004 in Finland, since the design is different. About the reissues of Boogie Woogie Xmas... I Thought about them, honestly, but since the tracks were included in Luck Be A Lady EP (though only released for the Japanese market), was up to some extent, pointless I think, but again, thanks for those updates! There's also a re-issue to BWXmas +Luck Be A Lady in 2006... grrrr, I hate that, but...
It'd be great to have a fully updated discography and lyrics section. If Mandi or the people designing this website want, I have all the lyrics by the SCats, Brian Setzer, BSO, Trio typed down together with pics of the albums as well as files of the works & guest appearances made by Le Setz that I am more than willing to share!
Thanks for your support folks

You must have alot of free time John. LOL
My friend is a Bob Dylan fanatic so I have searched in vain several times for mention of Brian Setzer on any of Dylans 80s or 90s albums. Setzer aint mentioned in any of the musician notes. I have listened to 'Clean Cut Kid" and I dont think it sounds like Setzer ,though I could be wrong. So I wikipediad Bob Dylans later album. There is extensive information and Setzer aint mentioned anywhere ? I read once in a Setzer interview where he mentions playing on a Dylan record but never specified which one. Can anyone shed any light on this ? Not to belittle your lists Jon , just wondering about the Dylan /Setzer connection.

Hey Lord! no worries mate.
I agree with you in the sense that "Clean Cut Kid" doesn't sound very Setzer to me BUT I took this information from our friend Scatman when we first contacted each other in 2002. Besides, I have a magazine/paper of 1986 called the "Island Ear" (Long Island, NY) and there's a small interview with Brian concerning his release The Knife... and the tour he was about to enbank. That he collaborated with Dylan was mentioned in that article/interview. Also, an old friend of mine here in Spain called me one day and told me that Brian was credited on that song, "Clean Cut Kit", that he had the album and he was mentioned. I trust him, since I've never really liked Bob Dylan nor bought any of his albums. So, the most reliable source that we have is the information that Scatman told me one day, together with that mention in the newspaper of 1986. I'm sure I've read about this collaboration in other mags from my collection, but I can't recall any at the moment, sorry.

I have no doubt Brian Setzer played on sessions for "Clean Cut Kid," especially if he mentioned it in an interview from that time period. The thing is, the Empire Burlesque album was recorded over many sessions over more than two years, with Dylan recording several different versions of some of the songs in different cities with entirely different personnel. So Brian probably played on a version that didn't make the released album. Two of the more well-documented musicians missing from the final version were Steven Van Zandt and Roy Bittan of the E Street Band. In fact, the first sessions for the album utilized Al Green's band.
To put this to rest once and for all, I sought out a local used record store today, and found a copy of the Empire Burlesque LP. On the inner sleeve, the lyrics for each track are listed, and at the end of each track's lyrics, the individual musicians who performed on each track are named. Nowhere on the album is there a mention of Brian Setzer. Nowhere. Not on the inner sleeve, not on the back cover, not on the vinyl label.
This wouldn't be the last time Brian Setzer hit the cutting room floor as a guest artist. Several sources have stated that although Brian Setzer is credited in the liner notes of Fastball's Harsh Light of Day album, his guitar track was not used in the final mix. I can't say I blame Fastball for listing Brian in the notes, especially since he participated in the recording sessions. Hell, if I was recording an album and Brian Setzer walked in and did nothing more than tune my guitar or push the button on a Brain Seltzer Nocturne pedal, I'd sure list him in the credits for the mega cool factor.
Thanks, Jon, for the inspiration to visit a hidden gem of a record store in my town.

Rick, I don't honestly know what could happen with the listing of Setzer in that album, I honestly don't know. However, you might be right that he might have participated and then, his part did not make the album for whatever the reason.
Going back to the Fastball thing, Scatman and I have a theory, and is that Setzer recorded the song but some of his parts (like a possible guitar solo) were not included. On the other hand, I've been listening to that song (Love is expensive and free) for ages, since it's a wonderful catchy tune, and I think I am listening to Brian doing a small thing with the vibrato/tremolo (or whatever that's called) after the band singing "Love is expensive and free" - then goes Brian "tanananaaaa" - and then again "Love is expensive and free" - Brian again: "tananaaaa" - LOL, not sure whether you get what I aiming to say.
But in anycase, I am happy that you are enjoying this topic anyway. It would be great if I were able to upload photos from my PC, so that I could illustrate a little bit all this...
