| Lately I've using my G&L more than my Gretsch and so have been giving thought to dropping in a pair of TV Jones Classics or maybe T-Armond pickups Any opinions on how it will sound?

| Thanks for the reply Brett, I didn't think of Brophy Dale. I just need to decide whether to go with Classics or T-Armonds

| TV Jones is really cool. And will you do it? I guess the sound will be amazing.
(And maybe i`ll do it with my Thinline too.)

Judging from the latest picture, he already did... I have a TVJ Magnatron neck pickup in one of my Gretsches, and it sounds great!

| Oh, it`s the same guitar? I was thinking this is a pic by TV Jones? In this case let us know how it sounds. | |

| I like Classics in the tele but lately I am swooning over my T-armonds in the tele..just unbelievable how versatile this guitar is. I've done some demos on my youtube beerbilly channel with several telecasters using either classics, or T-armonds or tvjones p90s.. Today I'm doing one with a tele I made from ruttersguitars.com sugarpine body and hardware with a Supertron in the bridge and a splitter. The single coil mode of a supertron is rad! | |

| saw the videos! I must say awesome stuff...pine teles are great! The El Capi is pretty sweet too...but not sweet enough for me to bite just yet...think about yes! and did my eyes play a joke on me or did I see a blondeshell (1x12?) combo cab that the pedals were sitting on? Funny that I see that in the video because I actually had a dream the other night that I picked up a 1x12 blondeshell combo in purple sparkle tolex and wheat grill... I'll just be happy to get my hands on one...tax time may be the right time... sorry to get OT | |

sorry to get OT ya.. working on it. Thats sparkle grey with the late 60s fender blackface grill using the turquoise metallic stripe. Spend $$ on that custom thing and the chassis wont fit, or I should say because its so small the OT is in the way of the 12" speaker (british built celestion G12-65, my new favorite hand made celest) so.. back to the drawing board using a deluxe chassis and cab. Got a sexy princeton reverb cab w/ speaker avail!

| since they first billed the V30 as a high powered alnico blue, that was kind of thrown out the window when they made the high powered alnico gold.
I like this G12-65 for clean, I havent tried to push it.. it just sounds like I stuck my ear on the top bout of my gretsch. expensive sounding is what I'm saying.. like when I dumped my cheap home pioneer speakers for a PolK surround system

| ahh I see now! Too many seakers to get a chance to listen to them all!
Those alnico golds seem pretty killer, I've even heard that they sound good with a bassman. I've always heard that alnicos sound a little better in open/open-ish back cabs.

Although I do like a deluxe with a well worn in Jensen P12N alnico
