| How exciting!!!! My gorgeous Wife and I are planning to make the trip to see the show!! Damn, I'm freaking out already :-) We'll be looking to stay at the Doral Desert Princess resort.
I'd love the opportunity to meet up with any fellow Hoodoo Voodoo Loungers for some drinks before and after the show.
See ya soon!!!

René seriously..we get to hang out? Yeah Tavo...seriously!!!! I get my US money tomorrow, will have accommodation done by the end of the week and then hope and pray we can get tickets for the show on Nov 6 when they're released. I'm not the party animal like Pete is, actually, no way near it lol!!! But I can sink a few JD and drys before my words get slurred. I'd be great to catch up :-)

I'd be great to catch up :-) We are of the "all things in moderation" ilk when we go out, too many variables outside of the home for irresponsibility at age 45 and I have been known to be irresponsible more than once. I mean even just last night I ran screaming down the halls of an all girl University not realizing it was an all girl University. I was being chased by members of a certain rockabilly band. ...but thats another story for another time. Well I'm lookin forward to ya comin to America! We'll keep the light on.

| Hmmmm....there's something on there about a private suite/box booking for 12 or more people. I wonder if we'd have enough folks to go in on a HDVDL suite for the show? Might be worth looking into. hrg | |

HRG, are you planning on attending?? I would LOVE to attend...but it all depends on the cash flow come ticket time. Airplane tix, concert tix, hotel stay, unfortunately it all adds up a little too quickly. But man, if we can swing it... I'd be there in a heartbeat. hrg

meat n grate .....grrrr...double booooo... and a Hissssss thrown in for good measure There is something magical about meeting someone without paying for it. As long as you can talk and not say something goofy like..."I've been a fan since 6th grade!" Doh! I have a guitar pick, a signed cd, and memories of a great night out with my husband that I will never, ever part with. All's well that ends well, hrg

All's well that ends well, hrg yes.. especially when that someone you want to meet, is not obligated to smile and be courteous to you because you paid them too. There is already an age old profession for such things. Plus who says the artist needs to be nice to you and pretend they even want to stand next to you? I got to meet Chad from the Red Hot Chili Peppers in a back row of the NAMM show, He was walkin one way and I the other.. I said I worshipped the Chili peppers music and because of them I know and love hendrix as well as have a deep appreciation for funk. He shook my hand and shy like said" hey thanks". That was it.. It ruled. When I lived in Temecula, it was always rumored that "celebs" had ranches in the vineyards. Well one day I was walkin into my Starbucks and Phil Collen from Def Leopard was sittin there with his girlfriend (all the stupid yuppies had no clue) I walked up and said "Excuse me, Phil can I shake your hand... I still have my Pyromania LP!!" He smiled and said" nice to meet you". His girlfriend was perturbed but he was cordial. it ruled!! One night I was walking down sunset blvd past the comedy club when I heard feet suddenly shuffle behind me and a big black man slammed into my side. It was Stevie Wonder being led by his chauffeur to an old school Rolls Royce parked on the street.. He said "oh" and I said "sorry"... It ruled!!!!! I didnt pay, they had no obligation. all magic moments Some day I will run in Brian Setzer if the fates allow!

| My fave magical moment:
Seeing "STRAY 48" parked on Sunset Blvd one afternoon in front of a tattoo parlor, B inside having something inked on his leg. Minutes earlier I had just picked up Stray 1 (Japanese import of their first Arista album) which had just come out on cd for the first time (it was 1990). I went inside and showed it to B and his eyes went wide, he was amazed to see the album on cd for the first time and proudly showed it to everyone around us. I remember his excitement as he slowly flipped through the pages of the cd booklet, and we ended up chatting for awhile, everything from the Paine Bros. to even his haircut on the Rock Tokyo video. There's more to the story, but I'll leave it at that.................
It ruled! | |
