I would like to take a moment to announce to all of my friends here that I am VERY excited to announce to you my great thing.
On August 13, my wife and I discovered we have a bundle of joy coming our way.
Today, she is 12 weeks along, and we will be having our first child in April.
I apologize from straying from the general thread of the Good Things, but, sometimes I need to shout.
Any prayers sent the way of our little "nugget" would be greatly appreciated.
Love from your Kool Family.
Brian and Jenny King.

Parenthood, you're never ready for it, but when it comes, you think, why didn't I do this ages ago.
Enjoy ever minute and remember; you'll forget the sleepness nights and the dirty nappies
CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Jenny and I are so happy and thankful to have so many people sending positive power our way.
With work taking so much of our time, the Twins about to win the World Series, and just general fatigue from Jenny getting done with the first Trimester, there is not time for much around the Kool Home.
But, there is time to show you the little nugget.
Taken about 4 weeks ago or so.

Update for 11/2/10
After many visits already, we are nearly positive we have found our delivery hospital.
Because Jenny has a rare bleeding disorder, we were transferred 2 times to different and better hospitals. We finally had an appointment today with the University of Minnesota medical center Bleeding and Clotting center.
These people knew their stuff. They were well versed on this rare condition (1 in 500,000) and they came in numbers. At the most, we had 5 doctors in our exam room talking to us about the plan, and they gained our trust.
We prayed this last Sunday at church for our situation, and I feel that prayer was answered.
The actual pregnancy should be situation free, but the delivery is the issue of concern. Because Jenny is severely deficient in a clotting agent (factor 7) it could pose bleeding issues upon delivery. The doctors mentioned they had their first Factor 7 birth last year, and they are prepared.
16 weeks down, 20 more to go (or so)
More updates to come.
The evergrowing Kool Family.

Ok, you should probably stop playing Setzer around the baby for awhile, or it will kick itself out of there prematurely.
That's fantastic, BK! Wishing you three a safe delivery and all the happiness you deserve!

We play Michael Jackson for it also, because, it might need to know how to dance. Also, this little nugget WILL have good rhythm.
No, I am not going to name it Billy Jean.

Coming down to the last 2 months now, we have the baby room pretty much complete and ready for the nugget.
As we are getting closer, I want to make sure I can share the news ASAP with you all as well, and I am not entirely sure I will have immediate access to the site here. With that said, would anyone be willing to transfer the information to the forum for me? I just need 1 person, I will add them to my "announcement" text message list, and you will know.
If anyone is willing to, that would be fabulous, otherwise, you might have to wait until the nugget is a few days old.
Thanks -BK

Hey Brian-
I started doing my surfing on my new iPod last Christmas and sort of forgot to check in here at the Lounge lately. Very excited to see the baby updates - especially liked the videos. They were kickin'!
You all are on my prayer list. Take care and God bless!

Thank you very much!
We have actually had an interesting, but rough last few weeks. Jenny and the Nugget are both healthy and doing well, but have a few friends who have had some tragedies happen that have given us a little shakeup.
2 weeks ago, a co-worker of Jenny's lost their baby, stillbirth, at about 30 weeks along in the pregnancy. Jenny was pretty shaken up by this and we have talked with many people about it to make sure we understand why things like that happen, and to make sure Jenny doesn't overstress about something that is out of her control, and trying to make sure she stays healthy for the baby.
Then yesterday morning, I receive a call to inform me that one of my best friends lost her 5 month old daughter overnight. I was very shaken up by this and still am. I know that there are going to be risks on all levels of this pregnancy, as well as after the kid is born. I have been telling myself as well as Jenny that we need to treat this situation as a time of mourning for my friend and her family, and not to dwell upon it as an item to be drenched in fear.
Unfortunately, I will be attending a funeral for a 5 month old girl this week, and I have to watch my friend say goodbye to her baby. I don't enjoy watching anyone endure that type of pain, and I have never had to see it so up close and personal.
I am very thankful for mine and Jenny's health and blessings, that our baby is growing normally, and that everything is going as planned thus far.
We very much appreciate the prayers and the love, and we are now within 6 weeks of this baby. Mr. Rickabilly will take care of posting the news for me, and I will give an update or 2 before then.
Now the main question is going to be: what day will it happen. Maybe 7lbs, 7 oz on April 7. Lucky 7-7-7

Due to some measurements from Tuesday's ultrasound, we have another ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow.
We are aware that if the level's have not improved, Jenny may be induced to deliver.
We are 3 weeks away from the due date, the baby is about 5lbs 13oz as of Tuesday. So, because of that, and because Jenny is full term, we are aware the delivery could take place and it could be safe.
HOWEVER, these levels are very borderline to begin with, so it could be nothing.

Hang in there, BK! It sounds like the doctors have been very careful with the precious Baby and Mrs. BK. I'm sure they'll only deliver early if it's the safest option for both mom and baby. If they induce, at least it all happens from minute one in the hospital, as opposed to her going into labor at home in the middle of a snowstorm.
I'm hoping for the best, charging my phone, and keeping some virtual cigars at the ready...

IT'S A GIRL!!!
From the proud papa:
"It is a wonderful morning. It's a girl! Please welcome Caroline Eleanor King, born at 7:04 this morning. Mommy and baby are doing fabulous!"
Congratulations, Brian and Jenny! I'm SO glad everyone's healthy!
We're all looking forward to you working that other new arrival, your iPad, so we can see some pictures and/or video of the little darling!
