Did anybody notice this FB message by BS

Just found this old message on Brians Facebook page:

CONGRATULATIONS BRIAN, ONE YEAR NO BEER!!

If it`s true my deepest respect.
I`m sure that`s not easy as a musician in the business.
There is everywhere beer, whisky, drugs, girls, etc.

does that mean no whiskey either? No beer might be
for weight loss, that crap is EVIL once you hit 48 its like eating
donuts and bacon

nope.. I turned vegan last year after ending up in the ER.. super low fat diet with little dairy, no eggs, no meat (little bit of fish now and then) and no alcohol or coffee. So I now drink green tea like a mad man ..BUT I got down to 166lbs from 205

Brian is probably feelin spry this holiday!

But i have an feeling the FB message is not about losing weight.
 

Any sort of victory over vice is noteworthy. Alcohol does nothing beneficial for anyone, and if you live long enough you cant deny this fact Hopefully Setzer is on a new path and it will reveal a brand new musical direction. Although I do look forward to the Xmas tunes and hopefully a bit more of the Lonely Avenue album.

To be honest, I think that post was absolutely non-sense.

That made Brian look like an alcoholic...

I found it to be an unusual post because Brian tends to keep his personal life private. Interviews, web postings, and other public communications seem to focus on music, gear, and the occasional hobby.

But in a few rare moments, Brian has mentioned battles with the bottle in the past. I don't necessarily like the term "alcoholic," as that term can be defined in so many different ways. But if he has noted the date of his last beer/drink, and can recite the anniversary of it, then it must be significant to him and certainly worth the congratulations.

Maybe I'm missing something in the first post, and I didn't see the original FB message,
but just in the way it's worded it appears to me that someone else has posted it and not Brian. Am I wrong?

And yes, it wasn`t post by Brian. But all the News on FB are not posted by BS himself.
If it`s totally bull why nobody delete this message.
Sometimes men changes things in their life when they gettin older.

Whomever manages his FB page put it up to congratulate Brian, but it still speaks to the fact that Brian made this change and thought enough of it to track the significance of the date to the point where someone else knows about it and felt it was worth celebrating. The post would have certainly been removed long ago had it been bogus info posted by someone who wanted to stir things up.
