Imelda May

For me "Love Tattoo" is one of the great moment of this year 2008.
Imelda May is a perfect singer and the band behind is really high level (Darrel Higham on the guitar). The sound and the soul is somewhere between Rockabilly and Jazz. I really like this kind of mood.
Last thing (but not the lesser), she's a very very beautiful young woman...
Have you listened the album or watched some videos on youtube ?

I have just discovered her here few days ago when someone (Laurent327 I think) put a clip of her from youtube and I said "wow ! The girl knows the job !" I think i gonna buy her album in the next days.

Fantastic to learn that Darrell stops his own career to help his wife's one to grow up faster.

Nice cd,some very good tunes. Have only played in the car,so far. Just awaiting,my sharon to leave for her night duty.
And i will give it a bit of a roasting up stairs!

I've got to be honest.I've never really liked the Imelda tracks that Darrel has included on his albums.
But,I really dig Johnny's Got a Boom Boom.And have you heard the ballad Falling In Love With You Again?It's on youtube from the Later with Jools Holland show.Beautifully sung.

I rather enjoy her music, and hope she can ride the wave of success for a few years. It sounds as though she's gained quite a bit of popularity following the Jools Holland appearance. My only concern is that husband Darrel Higham is slowing his career down to support hers. Very stand-up, that. But I hope he finds the time to put out an album or two while Imelda enjoys her success, possibly bringing his music to a larger number of people.
