| I can't believe what I see. Warpdrive are selling this guitar for only $6K and you can make offers. I was really thinking about it, but our Aussie dollar is really shot. Looks like the guitar market is really taking a hit. I think it was less than 3 months ago where I saw it for sale for $12K. Anyway, here's the link for anyone that may be tempted (TV??): Warpdrive on EbayRené-a-pony | |

| As much as I would LOVE to own that fine piece of equipment, I would almost regret spending that kinda cash without a shiny new finish on my NEW guitar. Know what I mean?
That thing is a relic, an artifact, a beautiful piece of history. I probably wouldn't even play it - I'd just hang 'er on the wall, put a chair in front of it, and just sit there staring at it with a shit-eating grin.
That IS some pretty amazing work, though, to make it look like the real thing!

| Agreed. I want to relic my own guitars (by using them). I think Sig models are very cool, but the replicas go too far... I feel like it would never be MY guitar, it's too personal to Brian. I'd never be able to "make it my own." (which is exactly what HE did in the first place!)
Still... $6K, what a steal... I wonder if these will ever REALLY go up[in value? None of the replicas... Setzer, EVH, etc. have been demanding the money people thought they would.

| yep. And really, and I am sure you guys can agree, that when I was in a band; it took me about 6 months of constant practices and gigs to have a slightly vintage/aged look. Then at a year with the sweat and grim, beer spillage (not much since thats a crime here in Pittsburgh to spill your drink) and constant playing made it look more so.
I think the folks buying these are collecting, not using them. It doesn't take long if you use it as a tool which is what they are.
Just my 2 pennies. | |

| Just hang a standard SSLVO behind your car and drive around with it, it will look like you played it for about 40 years^^
So Diggey have you found the picture we were talking about on the Gretschpages yet?

| I'd rather have a phoenix, played one at namm....mmmmmhhh. btw..0000g stainless steel and elbow grease on the finish will dull it, 000g on the bigsby and hardware with a light muratic acid wipe down... or let a class of kindergarten kids eat lunch on it for a week. ps. any guitar not purchased for playing is like a trailer queen classic car... I cant respect either. | |

Amen Brother!!
We started our own Car Club, "Pist'n Broke Car Club", cause the car club we were in was more concerned in the increasing values of our cars, rather than enjoy driving them! The same for guitars!

| How comes this has got the serial number 33024 72? All the others I've seen had numbers between 01 and 59. If there were only 59 made, why would they put a higher serial on it? | |

| Quote Warpdrivemusic (the seller of what looks like six 6120SSC's): "Gretsch started the numbers at 26, not 1." Ok. But why 26? | |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3cCpDVoVSk&NR=1 That youtube video is not the special GRETSCH CUSTOM SHOP DVD "Creating the Brian Setzer Tribute guitar" interviewing Brian about his tribute guitar complete with custom shop clips of its build. Not even close my setzer compadres.. very few have this or have seen it... only 59 discs exist in the world. I recently mysteriously was sent the original DVD disc from a tribute guitar case. hmmm.. Now If I could just have the guitar sent.heeehee

The shop owner was squirmin' Ironic being that its relic'd to total crap. Btw.. being that fender now has the road worn series, we could theoretically go into guitar center and smack the guitars around to the chagrin of the salesman...
