| The Favorite 50's Artists thread reminded me of this incredible collection of photos taken by Rob Illingworth. In this day and age, with digital cameras, you can take literally hundreds of pictures to get two or three great ones. That makes these, taken in 1958 by Rob when he was a young fan and not a professional photographer, all the more amazing. Illingworth Photo GalleryBack in the 50s, "Package tours" were popular, where many bands toured together, performing short sets of their greatest hits. On these 1958 tours, artists appearing in these photos, like Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Darin, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Larry Williams, and the Everly Brothers, might actually appear on one show! These photos were taken at several different shows. There's even one or two of Elvis in his gold lame' suit. Buddy Holly fans have been swooning over the Holly photos for several months now, but all the photos in this gallery are treasures. Enjoy! Shutterbug-a-billy | |

| "Treasures", one more time you found the right word Rick. Fantastic collection, a lot of them are "unseen" for me (Buddy's ones are superb !). Thanks a lot for the link. | |
