Where's the strangest place you've Bopped/Rocked?

Ever suddenly Rock n Rolled dance in the middle of the supermarket?
Or Rocked out of your seat when Chuck Berry came over the radio, and you nearly crashed?
Were you caught Head banging or boppin' at a friend's wedding?
Maybe videoed in your bedroom playing 'air guitar'....and to your horror the vids on You Tube now!

Let's hear some stories! Were you ebarrassed or did your friends think you were cool, or said it took guts to do that?

I'm a mad keen swing dancer. Well, I take that back. I WAS a mad keen swing dancer, now I get the chance to dance very infrequently. But if there is a jukebox in a bar or restaurant that has ANYthing that we can swing dance to, I play that song and my husband and I dance - regardless of whether or not there's a dance floor or whether or not the place has any intention of anyone doing anything remotely like dancing! We've gotten some pretty strange looks as a result but I don't care, given the opportunity, I'm takin' it!

Last chance we had to dance was actually to the pre-recorded music at one of the Brisbane Stray Cats shows- Kid saw. As did all the other people in the venue. Nobody else danced, I felt very self conscious but so what. I had fun.

Aside from that, one night driving TO my weekly dance hang out, I was enjoying Buddy Holly's "Oh Boy" at top volume in my car... and driving over 100 in a 65mph zone as a result!! The cop looked at me funny for continuing to rock out while he issued me a speeding ticket.

Music moves me, what can I say?

I almost crasch my car when my local radiostation play a Bob Luman song last week. Normaly they only play modern pop songs.. Didnt see it coming..

Well, let's see on the Chriostmas Party of a friend we played a Swing improvisation, and while I was soloing, it just packed me, and I started dancin' on my Bassplayers Amp.

But the strangest place I ever danced at must have been the roof of a bus-station I think...

Oh man!!! When I was younger a cousin of mine painted my face in Ace Frehley make up. I picked up my acoustic guitar and started "being" Ace Frehley. Of course my Mum video taped the whole thing!!!! I haven't seen that video in years, but I'm sure I'd still turn scarlet in the face when it gets resurrected. That was bad enough, but I also remember I was wearing terry cloth bathers and a matching shirt.

Probably the oddest place I've ever danced was at a local dirt track. That's our summertime entertainment, going to the local 1/4 mile dirt track and watching the races. Two summers ago, there was a pretty bad wreck. The driver was not hurt too badly, but because the car flipped a couple of times, and he was trapped for a bit, they took him to the hospital via ambulance. Well, track rules state that they can't run without an ambulance present, so we all had to wait until the ambulance returned. The track announcer started playing tunes over the PA system, and lo and behold....Rock This Town starts blaring! Me and the hubby took one look at each other, and we were up dancing in a heartbeat. When the song was over, we sat back down by the kids, and the people around us were actually applauding! It was pretty cool. Soon after, the ambulance returned, and we were back to racing. I love dirt track racing!

Hmmm... I'm constantly listening to music when I'm walking and what I do is to play air drums, moving and spreading my arms quite a lot!

I remember i was 13 in 1978, and a gang of us (Teddy Boys) were singing and dancing Rock n Roll in the middle of some out of the way roads in the middle of the night. We were returning from a 'disco' where we'd jived to 'Jailhouse Rock' and 'Rave on'......and were repeating the performance in the dark as we made our way 5 miles back home.
Well, the next week i couldn't go will the lads.....and i heard that one of them had been hit by a motorbike while dancing in the middle of a narrow bendy road.
I was horrified. Fortunately he lived....and a week later he was back doing his paper round as if nothing had happened!
So dancing in the middle of the road in the pitch black was not only thec strangest place for me, but the stupidest too!

Haha no that was awesome! I looked around and everyone was smiling at you guys! If anything I felt like a sore thumb because you guys were out there dancing and I'm just standing there watching with nothing to do so I just smiled along and looked at my mobile phone

Hmmm, strangest place I've rocked out.. In the aisle of a packed train, peak hour coming home from the city, I was standing because I stood up for someone, it was going to be a 2hr commute home in a packed train with no air con and no music... So I broke out the circle of life from the lion king.. I'm serious, I started with the african singing, just belted it out at the top of my lungs surrounded by jaded business men and women.. thing is they loved it and laughed and clapped and stuff..

I once rocked out in the subway on the way home from a concert. I was really drunk and we played "Gina" on a friends cellphone so I totally freaked out!

Awesome. I would have loved to be on that train to witness it!!
