| Vinyl rules for music that was recorded on old tube consoles and vintage solid state equipment but what is the point when we know that Setzer recordings are all mastered on Digi 003 Protools.
I am a fan of vinyl, still have my turntable and old recordings are better than the CD versions but this is kind of backasswards technically.
OCT 13 is comin.. I'll be downloading it on Itunes man!!

| same here.... as a collector, I will pass up this opportunity though I must say that so many LPs and CDs released lately are a bit annoying.
Tavo, wait a few days and you will have the album quite cheap on Ebay, and at least you have the physical CD as well... not just a mere download.
I've heard the full album and I don't really enjoy it... the BSO heydays are over and it's time to give it a few years off and get back to Ignition and Riot 2 |

OCT 13 is comin.. I'll be downloading it on Itunes man!! It's all about taste I guess, but why having crappy mp3 sound from Itunes Funny thing, in 5 years the CD will be almost gone, and they will still do vinyl. Saying this, the vinyl is not having a commercial comeback, it will just stay. Good thing would be, if it's possible to do better mp3 sound, and getting it up to CD level, I guess it must be happening. Have a great day

Have a great day Well.. I have a few things I could say about it #1 I dont download from Itunes in MP3 format but rather AAC format. Much better audio. #2 not all the music I like or most music in general is avail. on Vinyl. #3 most of us spend a huge amount of time driving in traffic and we have our ipods connected in the car. #4 some of us work in shops with dust n crap around so once again the ipod plugs into powered speakers or if you are a musician you take the ipod and plug it in the P.A. system between sets at a gig.

| Hmm..i don`t like Ipods...to small for me and my eyes... But i guess i`ll have to buy one the next month... I don´t have a recordplayer anymore, i lost all records in the 80ies. (wild times) But i will also buy a recordplayer again... I think the reason for BSO records on vinyl, it´s for the collectors. my friend and Bandmate is not an Fan of BSO and Setzer, but he owns a lot of Vinylrecords of BS and the Stray Cats. He is an collector in general. About the critic of Slim Jon, i did not listen to the whole album, but the Song "Lonely Avenue" is fantastic. I don´t think the hot BSO times are over, they are changing. And that`s good. i made a preorder on Amazon for the CD...i

| I'd like to have anything on vinyl - I'm not really a collector, but I sort of inherited (rather, dug up out of my grandmother's basement full of junk from the '50s, '60s, and '70s!) a whole load of vinyl records. A few milk crates full.
Some really good finds in there - Chuck Berry, Bad Company, one or two Beatles... can't remember any others, as they are now sitting in my parents' basement collecting another decade of dust.
Anyway, I have yet to get my hands on the gigantic wood-framed 'hideaway' record player (it looks like a big chest, with no drawers, but the top slides open to reveal the working parts).
Anything 'new' on vinyl I would like to have, but only from artists I like, such as Mr. Setzer - just to say I have it. How many people are putting new stuff out on vinyl, anyway? I never got '13', but I still can.
Nothing like that 'crackling' sound on old records, is there?

Agreed! As I told a fellow Setzer fan, you can't accuse Brian of doing the same thing over and over again.

| Vinyl or cd? It can go both ways, Some vinyl I have sound very, very bad and the cd sound fantastic from the same album, but for me the collecting side put vinyl ahead. Welcome to my musicroom here: http://www.minhembio.com/sidelakebob/232621#313390Is the new BSO Album coming on 180 g vinyl? | |

| There was a story floating around the news here that kids are starting to buy CD's again because they want a hard copy of the booklet and stuff. Who knows where this is all going. I guess I thought vinyl would have died with the CD, but it seems to be on a lot of peoples list. I bought the new Ace Frehley a"album" on vinyl too, so I'll do the same with Brian's stuff. I haven't heard on songs for the new album, I'm waiting. Whatever the case I'm sure it's going to be something uniquely Brian Setzer and that's what it's all about. Not long to go | |

Well Stray Cats have had a few years off from recording as a group (except Mystery Train Kept A'Rollin') or will it never be?! Just one more album (and maybe one after that ... and maybe...)

Even if they did I just dont see the piss n vinegar attitudes of youth coming through the record anymore. Storm the embassy requires the grit of youth and hunger, now its storm the starbucks This is not a negative thing its just part of growing older. I want to storm the starbucks thats for sure, gimme a double shot of x'presso with cream dammit or else!

Never thought i'd ever agree with Jon...
But anyway, vinyl.... oh the new album will sound MUCH warmer on vinyl - as with 'Wolfgang' there's a lot going on. And it has to be said that Brian's voice sounds great which again wound transfer on to record very well. but i've already said about that album elsewhere, so i'll just comment on vinyl....warm but tinny - sounds alive in voice but the bass isn't as powerful as on cd. I don't know why. If i have a record i usually prefer it soundwise on cd because of the bass and drums sounding clearer and fuller. |

| As much as I have enjoyed Brian's music over the years, I have to say I'm getting pretty pissed off at all the price gouging going on. Between the VIP & Hot Seat ticket packages, and 5 or 6 different combos on the new recording, I'm pretty fed up. Times are tough, and the level of greed being displayed by Brian, and/or his management is unbelievable. All I can say is WOW! Just, wow. Given the financial difficulties our nation is facing right now, this is really, in such poor taste. | |

| Surfdog store (back up now, by the way) says USD129.99
Add on international postage and (potentially) customs duty, and you're looking at a fair ol' bill for that!
Whilst it sounds cooler than cool, I'll just get the CD from play.com I reckon.

| Come on people, Brian's job is music. He has a family, he has to put food on the table just like the rest of us here. More power to Brian and the record label. They are just like us, they want to make money too. We work to make money, same difference for Brian and Surfdog records. I would love to have the new Lonely Avenue record package but my with my wife out of work I will at the very least buy the CD. One more time, it is Brian's JOB to sell the great music he makes, please do not villify him for doing his job. Have A Gretsch Day ! Ross | |
