| Cool, thanks!
The last one ("backstage" off YouTube) is the bonus from the "Christmas Extravaganza" DVD though, not new.

| SBG, that last backstage clip is from the DVD extra feature, not this year? | |

| I thought that might be the case - I wasn't sure because I haven't watched the special features from the DVD yet. I was hoping it'd be current given that it was just posted, but I just realized the tour started two days after the video was posted. Oops. Oh well, I tried SBG? | |

| I have never seen a Setzer show with so much stage decoration - they weren't doing that back in the days when I saw them all the time. I can't wait. Jeez, I haven't seen the orchestra in, like, 8 years!!! I'm excited too!!!! And yes, that streetlamp is badass, I want one in my living room. If I ever get a living room | |

| A Neal Hefti tune wouldn't necessarily be out of place at a BSO show, but were they singing "Batman," or "Catman?" I had heard in Japan and Europe this past Summer it was "Catman." That would make it more fitting for an entrance piece.

Hey Everyone! Just got back from Wausau, and I must say that the concert ROCKED! Excellent venue, awesome sound, and simply THE BEST BSO experience I've ever had. Pictures and story to come shortly...maybe. Here's the set list from the night: Batman (yes, it really is BATMAN, Rickabilly...) Dig That Crazy Santa Claus Sleigh Ride This Cat's On A Hot Tin Roof Boogie Woogie Santa Claus Sexy n' 17 Stray Cat Strut, into Grinch Trouble Train Pipeline (with the California Surfin' Trombonists) Honey Man Angels We Have Heard On High Lonely Avenue Run Rudolph Run (trio) Jingle Bell Rock (trio & vixens) Blue Christmas (trio & vixens) Mr. Jazzer (trio) Fishnet Stockings (trio) Rock This Town (trio into orchestra) The Nutcracker Suite Jump Jive An' Wail Jingle Bells. I was thrilled to hear Jump Jive An' Wail live. Excellent performance by the BSO. My hubby and I ran up to the front and danced our little feet off. An amazing day and an amazing night. Thank you! reason for edit: Added Sleigh Ride. I had it on my list, but apparently I can't read and type things in order very well!

| Thank you for posting the setlist Hot Rod Girl!
No Sleigh Ride or Gettin' in The Mood (For Christmas)? That makes four songs to have been cut since the opening night. Not good.
No more setlist trimming, please!

| Uh, by the time the BSO make it to Los Angeles they will only play Batman if they keep dropping songs from the set.... |

No more setlist trimming, please! Sleigh Ride was there. I didn't type it in (oops, sorry). I'm blaming it on sheer giddiness and sleep deprivation...and the stop at The Point Brewery on the way home for the brewery tour and tasting.... Check the updated set list on my previous post. It should be correct now. Happy Thanksgiving! hrg

| Great - thanks for the update. At least it was only the one song that was dropped. It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun.
Sorry for the thread drift Andi! And now, back to our regularly scheduled program: Photos & video from the 2009 Christmas tour.

Not at all, RMC. Heck, I'm the one that asked about Wausau! I'm not one o' them that's concerned about thread drift - drift away! Let's talk about Robbie Williams' fanny! (Before anyone gets their nose out of joint, that's me teasing!) But just to get this back on track, here's more from Wausau! | Great clips and pics folks!
The only thing I still dislike: the drummer, Tony Pia. I know he's an excellent musician but the BSO sounds weak with him, at least in my opinion.
Now, back to the topic! |

| I think Tony is terrific! He beats the HELL out of those drums and it got me to thinking, I bet if the BSO had an arm wrestling competition, he'd be the winner. I'd bet on him. | |

| I don't care what anybody says about "Wolfgang"...if it just had Honey Man on it, it would have been great. Will never get tired of watching him play that...HOLY S@#T!!! And it has been an adjustment since Bernie left with Tony, but I think SFLA has really showed how good he is...the drumming makes some of those songs really interesting. | |

| SJP-- When was the last time you saw the BSO w/Tony perform live? I think Tony has a quiet excellence about him. He's a hell of a musician, and he only makes the orchestra stronger. He has his own style, and no, he's not Bernie. But the orchestra is in NO WAY weaker because of him.
When I saw the trio was performing during the Mystic Lake show Tony didn't seem to command stage presence as he was "directing" it to Brian. But the percussion never disappointed. And when you took your eyes off Tony and glanced back, you never knew what he'd be doing next. But he almost always was "giving" his stage presence to Brian. Classy, in my opinion. Not trying to steal the show, but still being a damn good musician and showman.
I'm amazed at how openly critical (sorry--I don't have time to check my urban language dictionary I might be saying "booger" in Spanish slang) you can be for such an accomplished musician.
But as always...this is a place for OPINIONS, where there is no right or wrong. Have a great weekend Jon!
