This is from a french TV show broadcast in 1984 called "Les Enfants du Rock - Special Johnny à Nashville" and our french rocker played some songs with artists such Carl Perkins, Tony Joe White, Emmilou Harris or the Cats (That's all right mama & Johnny B. Good). Great memories!!

Yes, really...
Here, in France, almost everybody say is "our national rocker" or some others compare him as the "french Elvis" ( Shocked ).
He's just a singer, a "regular guy" as Brian said one day, and a man with 45 years career behind him, thing I respect of course even I have never bought one of his records.
Just watching that video can help you to make an opinion : in 1984, he was 41 and... Brian (almost 25 !) sings so much better than him...

yes, when i was a kid in 70ies, i remember some TV-Shows with him.
But very small memories...

maybe it is not our personal taste, but much better than all these "plastic-castingshow-hip and hop-artists" you could see every day in TV.

Rock`n Roll... Cool

Yeah, you're right! Regarding Johnny Hallyday, he did a lot for rock n' roll music in France in the early '60, nobody would contest this fact. And his gigs are very famous: think that he performed 3 times in the "Stade de France" in Paris, in front of almost 80 000 fans each time, just where the Stones couldn't do the same!
Since a decade or 2, he forgot rock n' roll music and I think he should stop his long career; but he still sales a lot of CDs, so....

he did an anniversary show not long ago, didn`t he?
I`m working sometimes a little bit for a french company (showlight & sound)
and i remember a show in Paris with Johnny Hallyday. But i wasn`t there...

Anyway, this is a Brian Setzer Forum and the Video with the Stray Cats is cool.

Greetings to France

First, he "rocked" (a very long time ago)
Second, it might be not true...
Third, it really doesn't matter Wink
