| Glad to hear that Ubangi Stomp is back on the setlist. It's an early classical and a "must" for the farewell tour. Thanks Andi. | |

| Hey guys, Just flew back from Melbourne after seeing the concert on Sat night 21/02/09...
What a great show!!! Having seen them 4 days previousily hadn't quelled my enthuism at all. In fact, it had whetted it to see it all again.
Got so much to say but gotta be at work in 6 hours!
Had the great pleasure to meet and share a beer with AussieSam. What a complete gentleman!
Will post pics later and setlist.
Cheers Pete
Oh yeah, I met Jim and Lee, even had photos with Lee.........

| Great Pistol Pete!! You lucky guy!!
Brian seems to be invisible after the gigs, no one can actually see him after the event... it was the same here in Europe... Look forward to the set list.
FrenchyFab, no worries, apoligies accepted ;-) About Sangria... pzzz, I never liked wine, so, I am not the most indicated person to let you know about it. Pour me a pint of beer please! heheh.
Cheers! |

Oh, I don't know about that.... Aussie Sam and myself may have very interesting stories. I'll speak for Sam and myself here, we'd love some particular footage from the 20/02 Melbourne show...........
To be continued, must go to work.............

| Umm,how do i start. On the Thursday night show in Melbourne 19/02 i was front row and noticed Brian hurt his ankle, I noticed that he had a limp when we said a quick hello after the show. During a quick review of the rockin show on this forum i mentioned it and news got back to Brian that I posted it. Anyway, Brian said to himself that he was going to get me back at the Friday night show 20/02 and he did just that, during the show he said a hello to myself and Pickin Pete...I was standing next to my wife Caroline enjoying the show at the time and our jaws litterly hit the ground, infact i nearly fainted. I got a little teary because i was so touched. I'm going to cut a long story short here, we were lucky enough to meet Brian and his beautiful wife Julie after the show. When i saw him my first instinct was to just hug him and i did. Infact I remember hugging him a few times. Then, while im still blown away Brian and Julie invite us to share a drink with them!! I swear my legs turned to jelly, i could not believe it. We got together and the next hour was heaven for me, just us four having a fantastic time, the longer we spoke the more relaxed I felt, no words will ever describe how i felt talking to the man I have idolized all my life. Before I ever met Brian I had many dreams that I met him and then only to wake up and be dissapointed that it was all a dream, I even said to Brian I feel like im going to wake up and this is all a dream. Also, before I met Brian i had him on such a high pedastel that it would be impossible for Brian to be all that I had preconceived of him. You know what? He shattered all my thoughts, there is no pedastel on this earth high enough to put him on. Brian is the most genuine, sweet and lovable person you could ever, EVER meet. What a guy, we are still taken back so much by Brian and Julie's beautiful nature and generosity, the time they spent with us chatting about things ranging from guitars, cars, family, touring, juke boxes, weddings and Christmas. The list goes on. The main thing I want to pass on through this message guys is that in my whole life I have never met anyone so down to earth, genuine and amazing as Brian and Julie Setzer. It's a night we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Brian and Julie thankyou from the bottom of our hearts and remember next time you two are in our town it's roast pork and crackling at our place. We can't wait. Love Sam and Caroline Nassima. | |

| Oh my God Sam. I am SO thrilled for you, this is fantastic. Having been in essentially the same position (hanging out with Brian, though this was 15 years ago) I know exactly how you feel - it's great to find out our heroes really are cool people, innit?

| Fantastic story Sam, really happy for you. That's the Brian I know (I met him in 1995) : nice, cool & receptive. I don't recognize him in some stories where people say he's not open-minded for fans. | |

Andi, I got some great stories from that week end! Hahaha!! From the afternnon chilling out, drinkin long neck Chang Beers with AussieSam and listening to his fantastic night before, to saying WTF when he mentioned that we got a hello from Brian in the show, to meeting them and Chris Cheney, all the way up to getting asked to pour our beers down the drain in Flinders Street by the Police before they decided to book us while we waited for the taxi to the airport! Haahaha!! AWESOME WEEK END!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh shit!! It's happening again in 6 days!! Rene, be ready, you're riding the Pickin' Pete Express!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [img][/img] But my favourite.......

| Wow guys! Great stories and pictures. Thanks for sharing your memories with us. What an amazing experience to talk about. Hey Pete...Love that first picture of you and your lovely wife. I'm especially digging your outfit. I thought my hubby was the ONLY one who could "match" plaids like that. You wouldn't happen to be an old school sk8er, would you? Take care! hrg | |
