| It´s all a question of money, local Promoters, prices for equipment and transport, venue-rental, traveling, etc.
Touring is not the best way to make money. You have a lot work and everybody wants money.

| Well, it's much more profitable than selling records, where bands only see 1 Euro out of 18 of the selling price... Imagine Slim Jim living on selling records.... sure it's much better to tour even small venues, where sure he can make 300 bucks a night and when it comes to Stray Cats, they ask for 75.000 bucks PER SHOW FOR THEMSELVES; obviously, we need to discount the venue rental, travels, staff, meals and all that, but sure they still get the wonderful figure of 12.000 per gig... not bad, eh? |

Maybe look at why every band that was "big" here in the eighties and nineties still playing and why some actually live in Japan now. I'm told its "throwback" heaven.

| If all of you in Oz were truly blessed, an Australian promoter could try to piggyback on the next tour of Japan. The trans-Pacific flightts are already paid for. One would only need to cover the incremental costs, and possibly a smaller share of the trans-Pacific costs. | |

| This thread will never die!! No I do have a valid reason for bringing this back again. During their second gig in Brisbane the guys played 'Ace of Spades' - it was AWESOME!!! And I loved it because it was impromptu, they hadn't played it at any of the other gigs I attended.. anyway, surely there must be video of it out there.. I want to see it again!! Can anyone find video of it? | |

| In April, Slim Jim Phantom together with Robert Gordon, Chris Spedding and Glen Matlock are said to be to play near Brisbane next April, for a festival.... it's not the 3 Cool Cats but it's a great rockabilly leged, Mr Robert Gordon and Slim on the skins, not too bad! |

| Here's another reason to keep this thread going.
Today (1st March 2010) marks the 1st Anniversary of the final Stray Cats show in Australia. I was talking with Anu last night and I said Happy Anniversary. She looked at me with a puzzled look on her face and asked what Anniversary is it? I told her it's the first Anniversary of her getting a big hug from Brian Setzer. The next hour we talked about the show and getting to share the experience with Andi, Aussie Sam and of course the larger than life Pickin' Pete.
Great memories!!! It seems like it was just yesterday we were heading over to Melbourne to watch the show. It's amazing how quick time flies.
So, to all the Aussie's in here, I hope you had a great first Anniversary and enjoy reliving the memories from the 2009 tour.

| Wow, what a bizarre coincidence. I just this morning got home from an amazing weekend of fantastic music and friendship - different country, different performers (main act this weekend was sax legend Big Jay McNeely!), different friends, different feelings, but I'm completely wiped out and at the same time on a total high, just like I was after Melbourne. If a year from now I still think back on this weekend as fondly as I remember the one twelve months ago, I will consider it an honor and a gift. We set a high standard in Melbourne Love you guys. Happy anniversary!! | |

| Every now and then I read through this thread! Those few weeks were the time of my life! I remember the feeling when Brian came out to introduce the Living End, it was the first time i'd seen him live since 1991, #%$ I nearly fainted! 17 long years of praying paid off! Oh well, I'm praying again, but I hope its not for another 17 years lol. Mr Setzer we LOVE YOU!!! | |
