Well, I read somewhere too U2 opened for the Cats. But I never found informations about that (where, when, how many times). I just know U2 played before the Cats at the Loreley Festival back in 1983. So, can somebody here help me? Frenchy(always-wondering)Cat

| Hey Rass, those 2 gems... did you get them from a guy from Hamburg?? If so, that man has been credited in the Japanese Guitar Slinger... Bernd something... can't remember the surname right now. He used to be a good Setzer friend but all of a sudden, Setzer stopped that friendship and this guy was kind of... (sorry for the comparison) like Tommy M, that's why he sold all that stuff. Apparently Bernd sold many items to a Japanese guy, he even called me not long ago to offer me some stuff, but either I got it/not interested or I didn't have enough money for that. Dammit!! |

| Stray Cats albums - a tie between Stray Cats, Rant N Rave and Built for Speed. SC songs - Sweet Love on My Mind (of course), Crawl Up & Die, My One Desire, Baby Blue Eyes, Beautiful Blues, Lust N Love, Rebels Rule.... actually, there's no point in answering this question, I just can't. Setzer album - tie between Brian Setzer Orchestra and Dirty Boogie. Setzer songs - Dreamsville, Rosie in the Middle, Good Rockin' Daddy, Rebelene, Blue Cafe (the last one mostly for personal reasons- I was there!)... gah, this one's pointless for me too. Too many. Memento - all of 'em. Can't single one out. The photos, the tshirt from my youth, the signed photo of Brian and me, my SSLVO which I am completely head over heels in love with.... and the memories. 'Specially the memories. Well that was hardly narrowing things down, was it?! | |

| Well... for me the Stray Cats were kinda finished at "rant n rave"... before that They were "IT"!! they were what I lived for.. it was them on the record player and me on my guitar and mic. a genuine nut job for that trio!! BUT... Brian Setzer was game on from day one and still a Super Bowl champ.. IMO
1. Stray Cats /runaway boys-I wont stand in your way
2.Dirty boogie/ Hollywood Nocturn-sleepwalk-switchblade 327
3. when Tommy came over to me and my son and moved us to front row, center seats at the 2006 (edited) BSO XMAS show. That year was a tough one as we almost lost our youngest boy to a rare blood disorder and me and my older boy had decided to soldier through the hardship and go to the BSO show anyway.. We had bunk seats back along side the wall and all of a sudden this dude showed up and said "Setzer wants his number one fans to be able to see him up close" and then escorted us all the way down to the front... I still get misty when I think of how much that meant to me and my boy that year. ALONG with the support of my HDVDL family that got me through it!!

I've heard stories that some companies just paint random records gold and stick the lable of the band over the original lable.. would be funny if those records were made in the same way

| 1. Stray Cats- It smacked me in the head like a sledgehammer and hasn't left. Stray Cat Strut- It was the song that made me see that I could be a guitar player and still a favourite of mine.
2. The Knife Feels Like Justice- It showed me that Brian was a talented all round guitarist/singer/song writer, and that it was ok to enjoy/play other styles of music. Rosie In The Middle- What a feel/vibe this song has! Breath Of Life comes really, really close though.
3. All the picks I caught, was given, drum sticks and sweat bands, autographed promo that Brian went back for after the '91 gig and gave to us, his recognizing me in Melbourne are all uber cool, but I think the friendships I've made with the people I've met recently is what sticks in my mind the most.

| Pistol Pete, I know for sure your most preciated treasure is the mention Brian did of yourself on the 2nd night in Melboune (well, and to Aussie Sam) - I got that recording yesterday!!
BTW, Tavo, I am Setzer asset No1 ;-) But I didn't want the fame... otherwise the relation fan-artist would have changed, heheh, just kidding! |

| Far out this is gunna be hard
Fav Stray Cat Album is Choo Choo Hotfish and fav songs from that are Crybaby, Sleepwalk, Lust n Love, Jade Idol & My Heart Is A Liar.
But then there's heaps more
Fav Setzer would be 1) BSO Ultimate Collection track 1 disc 2, Hawaii 5 O intro
2) Rockin' By Myself Live Deluxe track 14, Can't Help Falling In Love
3) Boogie Woogie Xmas track 11, O Holy Night
Collectable items would be a 4ft x 4ft Stray Cats silk material banner, a Stray Cat wallet, Rock This town Tab from a Jukebox, posters, t-shirts, vinyl cut stickers, ticket stubs and almost time to get the Cat Tattoo done now.
Cheers Paul | |
