BSO to play Finland in July

Just checked in at BS.com and news is that the BSO will perform at the Pori Jazz Festival on July 18th.

Finland is the only country I can recall visiting and able to play Brian Setzer music on the juke box in several bars I visited.....BRILLIANT

I doubt very much the BSO will tour Europe unless it's in festivals... otherwise, it wouldn't be profitable. Otherwise, the BSO would have toured Europe a few more times

If they are in Europe, I bet chances are they play somewhere else. Once ALL THAT people and supplies are over here, it´s easier to move around the continent.

Let´s hope I´m not wrong....

BSO in Europe, oh yeah!!!!!!!!!

The PoriJazz outdoor venue will hold app. 20 000 persons. The rumour tells that there will be no other
gigs in Finland (not confirmed), for the rest of the Europe I have no clue but I sure do hope they will more gigs.

Let´s be honest and realistic. IF the money is right, they will play in other countries. I don´t see any other issues.


Now... booking the BSO has to be NOT very cheap, having in mind the amount of mouths that need to be fed for just one band....

Of course that bringing the BSO to Europe on tour loads of money are needed but my question is... the BSO tours Japan every 1 or 2 years for, how many shows?? 6, 7 or 8 at the most, being half of them in Tokyo...
IF that's profitable, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be profitable to tour Europe, 20-24 dates or so.... Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Copenhagen just to name a few... nonetheless, I still prefer Setzer with the Nashvillains or 68 CBS....

I bet they pay lots of money in Japan, and the gigs are sold out every night.

I know, as well as you know, that over here in Spain paying 100 bucks for a single ticket, nowadays, is out of reach for many of our fellow spanish neighbors. I would pay for my ticket, but I know of a bunch of fans that can´t afford that kind of price. And, if the BSO ever makes it to Spain, I bet you the price won´t be much less than 100 Euros per ticket.

The tickets for the Pori-show are 68 euros and there are 4 performers before BSO, it's a sort of all dayer.

I´m impressed with the cost of that ticket. A bargain. It is a shame is kind of far from Spain..... I rather spend the flight money in a flight to the Good Ol´USA.

well, i´ll sure be in amsterdam. but it´s hard to get tickets for that show in germany.

so, i´ll travel there and have to hope to get a ticket on the " black market "

I'm seriously considering going. I even persuaded the Mrs to join me. Not that it took a lot of convincing, but ...well, you know...

The most comfortable (and the most time-efficient) way is flying from Oslo to Helsinki. But how is the public transportation from Helsinki to Pori? According to google maps, it's a three-hour-plus drive. Is it possible to go by train? Or by bus? I've tried to check on the web, but apart from the obvious couple of words, I don't speak Finnish...

Of course, I could drive all the way through Sweden, and go by ferry to Helsinki or Åbo, and have my own car. But it'll take forever... Any tips from you Finnish cats?
