| What the heck is hippy about Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam and Nirvana?!
And what's wrong with hippies, anyway?
It's all music. What matters is whether it moves you and you think it's good.

| Love 'em both. Several years working for a classic rock radio station made sure of that! Now back to your regularly scheduled gear thread, here's my beautiful boy, Billy (the pickguard is back on since this was taken): More here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/andihazelwood/sets/72157611263332497/F holes are so damn pretty. They'd make a great back tattoo, whaddya reckon? (Not posting pics of the amp since as of next Friday I'll no longer own it. ) | |

| I finally got my ass in gear. Here's my stuff: [img] [/img] Left to right: 1958 Gibson ES 225 TD, 1993 Gretsch 6120-60, 1988 Martin D 42 LE (mine is # 27 of 75). On top of the amp: 2006 Gretsch 6120 AM. Amp: 1964 Fender Bassman 6G6-B with a 2007 homemade 2x12" "Fender" cab with Celestion Vintage 30's. [img] [/img] 1981 Fender Lead I (my first decent electric guitar), 1982 Fender Stratocaster, 1991 Telecaster (made in Norway) with Hipshot B-bender, and 1997 Danelectro U2 (the Norwegian distributor only carried the black ones [B-O-R-I-N-G!], so I had it painted...). Oh yeah, there's an 80's Roland RE301 Space Echo there as well, but I think mine should be re-named "Noise Echo"... About a month ago, I installed TV Jones pickups in the 6120 AM (Magnatron neck & Supertron bridge), and it brought out a whole new dimension of twang. Here's a (although not too good) picture: [img] [/img] [img] [/img] My favourites, and also the couple I tend to drag around if I have a gig (besides a drummer and a bass player... ). The 6120-60 also has TV Jones pickups; a Classic neck and a Classic Plus bridge. Anders | |

| Thank you Anders (that means different in Dutch but you probably heard that a million times) for the story and the pictures.. It raises many questions about my own gear. It is not that impressive as the things I saw on this thread but I'm gonna try to post it when I find the time and hope to get a reaction of you all.. But back on you Anders... The 301 is broken? Or what did you mean with noisy? I think you made great pics! | |

Yeah - well, I bought it used (naturally) in a music store, and at first the reverb was a little unreliable. Not that I use it a lot, but when I needed to use reverb I had to turn it WAY up for anything to happen. And then suddenly (in the middle of a riff), all the reverb in the world would come crashing through the amp. Plus, there was a little bit of noise in the unit. So I brought it back in, and they fixed it. It worked for one or two gigs, then it sounded like it was invaded by martians. They fixed it again, I checked it at home (worked perfectly), used it for ONE gig, and during our next gig's soundcheck "the martians" came back. So now it stays at home. Untill I get motivated enough to bring it to another repair shop.... Anders

| Gretschoholic,
I've never been a fan of natural-finish electrics... even archtops. I like my acoustics natural, but not my electrics.
BUT that is one of the sweetest-looking Gretsches I've ever seen.

BUT that is one of the sweetest-looking Gretsches I've ever seen. Thanks! I must admit that although I like natural finishes, I never thought I'd actually buy a Gretsch that looked like this. But I didn't want to buy one that looked exactly the same as the other one, and I got a good deal on the amber maple one. And yeah, she's darn purdy! And once I got rid of the stock pu's, they match each other (without sounding the same) sonically as well...
