Jonas brother...??? Don't know him. Probably my age.
But take a closer look at the guitar player! That's James Dean!

J Mascis may be a long haired hippie, but he's an awesome guitarist and songwriter... and he's playing an acoustic guitar through a marshall halfstack hit with fuzzboxes...

Wow! That's a trip down memory lane. The bass player in the "Blowing It" video is Mike Watt. He's a fabulous bass player. My hubby and I got to have a beer with him outside the Blind Pig in Champaign, Il. years ago. Fantastic conversation.
Here he is in Firehose playing one of my favorite tunes. It was the first song I ever learned how to play on bass guitar.
Warning: may not be suitable for "little ears".

Mike Watt is great, I saw him live as support for the RHCP in Frankfurt un 2006. He rocked, but his band was pretty bad and noisy...

Oh man. I haven't listened to that in ages, the hair on my neck just stood up when I read that line. Every once in a while a Setzer tune will do that, ya know? You can just hear the energy and exuberance in your head...
... of course lately I've been combing record stores for the first few Cats records... on vinyl. Hee hee!
Listening to lately:
Jamie Cullum Chris Isaak (both to prepare for upcoming shows)
Pete Townshend Love & Rockets Queen Type O Negative XTC
I've got musical whiplash.

Lately, a lot of Monks, Stooges, just loud stuff. It's summer.
Funny story about J Mascis, I worked at a show years ago which featured Alanis Morissette headlining. This was at the height of her popularity, and I went out on stage to check the mics, and there were almost 50,000 people in the audience. HOWEVER, somebody put Dinosaur Jr. On the bill. The crowd were NOT impressed. When he said, "This is our last song for the day", people were cheering and applauding for them to get off the stage. He followed it up by saying, "Our last song is a 20 minute guitar instrumental", and then proceeded to strangle the neck of his guitar, into the amp, for 20 minutes of screaming and feedback while the band crashed around him. Then he flipped off the audience, said thank you, and walked off stage.
Mike Watt is playing bass for the Stooges still, I saw him in Toronto not that long ago. Good musician. The first time I saw him was when he came out with the Ball Hog or Tugboat album, his band was Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, and Eddie Vedder, along with Alanis Morissette's drummer.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico soundtrack.. badass movie and fekin awesome soundtrack to be in the kitchen drinking bohemia, roasting green chili for the chicken you just grilled over mesquite to eat with home made tortillas and pinto beans slow cooked with a few rashes of applewood smoked bacon!
of course the soundtrack opens with Setzer Malaguena but the kids really love "pistolero" by juno reactor on the album
