Deke Dickerson is the god of Rock 'n' Roll! Nobody, not even Brian, manages to amaze me as often as Deke. This man's pure talent and taste!

Oh yea, well said!! I remember seeing him live 2-3 times here in my area... WONDERFUL!!! Except a twat in the audience, when Deke was trying to say a few words in Spanish (you know, courtesy, politeness, respect to the audience) and this lad yelled: "Que dices que no te entiendo??" (What are you saying?? I don't understand) and Deke replied: "Sorry but I don't speak Spanish, can anybody translate?" - and this prick back: "Haber aprendido idiomas, gilipollas!!" (You should've learnt languages, you jerk!) - Most of us were baffled... but Deke ignored this chap... which was great!!

A perfect song for this election day:
Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American"
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it, or think about it. It's a great song, and speaks volumes about this awesome country that I live in.
And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.
Here's to another day of being free,
hrg

Hey Gretscholic, didn't know about them, nor even their origin. I thought they were Italian, just because of the name, Toini... but you never know!
Never been a rockabilly guy but Stray Cats/Setzer, etc - little by little I am discovering new bands and I always keep the songs I like best. I've always been into everything: pop-rock mainly but i's great to see the gems of rockabilly. I will never appreciate Elvis or other stuff but I am very grateful to this genre, that makes my journey to work much funnier when taking the train ;-)

John Lennon's final interview
Lost Lennon Tapes radio series (picking randomly from 212 episodes). I just listened to a promo 45 from Lennon's film "How I Won the War." Too much!
The Surrender at Carters Glen, Tavo and the Flat Back Thrillers - the only non-Lennon music to grace my ears today! I'm extremely proud my 13-year-old cello/electric bass/aspiring guitarist daughter picked out the riff from "Crazy Train" on Tavo's cover of another one of her favorite tunes: "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)."
