| In the "club"!
Thanks for conceiving, and making this thing happen, Tavo. It's a unique project for unique folks, with the unique-EST leading the pack. Very cool idea, and very cool of you to offer it up... you could very easily have just made it a one-off for yourself.

| I don't think there's anyone other than the board members that would stumble onto this site and purchase one. I think they'll fall into the right set of hands! Can't wait. | |

Great job on the pedal! Glad it's working out for ye. Looks like an awesome design.

N Its been run through 3 different bassman 6G6-B amps, a 71 princeton reverb, a 65 Princeton w/ a celestion vox blue tophat cab, a fender blues deluxe, hot rod deluxe, 65' reissue twin and a crate V-18 running a celestion v30 silver. The guitars were a a gretsch SSU, a 6120DSW, a 6120jr.,a road worn tele with tvjones filters, a 91 american strat with maple neck and suhr v60, a fender mex strat w/ fat 50s, Epiphone ; ES335, Joe Pass Emp., and LP with nanomags. While it has a 1meg ohm impedance to accept a wide variety of instrument, its design is specifically purposeful and its use is most afforded to those who intend to play neo-rockabilly in the style and rigging of Brian Setzer. Particularly those who have developed the skill of finger picking and playing inside chord. This is where Brian Setzer's tone has been so elusive to many as they think the guy is playing with just a guitar pick, hitting big chords and bigsby dives. While nobody I know has his talent and finger tone, there is a way to come very very close to having his BSO tone that is a combination of his guitar, amp and pre amp of choice.. the RE-301 space echo, but one has to pay super close attention to how he attacks the strings. He holds the pick in a certain way across his index and thumb as he also has a particular "cup" to his palm positioning on certain areas of the gretsch pickups. Also when he "travis picks" or "nashville claws" he has an unconventional position of his thumb as it juts out much further forward from his fist than most players of this ilk and it ALLL communicates a different and unique tone (obviously along with the size and bone density of his hands carpal and metacarpal bones) that must be matched to His rig of choice... The Nocturne is not Setzer in a box and I hope nobody is gullible enough to think that when they plug into one that the heavens will open and the perfect sounds of hollywood nocturne and sleepwalk will suddenly envelope all their aural senses... At least I know nobody in this forum would make those assumptions. Aside from all this "setzer tone" obsession I can indeed say that my son wants to play his mexi strat and V-18 with a Nocturne on because the tone of his stratocaster sounds thin without it. did he think his strat tone was thin before using the pedal.. No. but we all learn new things and find paradigm shifts in how we process. One is not necessarily better than the other, but it sure is nice to strum your guitar and not have to turn the stupid amp all the way up or hit the strings as hard as you can to have Good tone... btw.. If you are a P-Bass Player this thing makes your bass sound more like a Music Man Sting-ray (my favorite electric bass next to the old L-1000) ... teehheeee .heeehhee..maybe I need a Nocturne Baritone Seltzer pedal in the line up.
