Article in the newspaper about our gig last thursday. Said something like that: "...For a surprising highlight were serving Joshua Fuchs, aka Mozart on the Piano, and Paul Baureis aka Elvis on the Guitar. Their Duo on the last Piece "Now Baby or Never" was a credit to their nicknames, and gathered shouts of joy, and extensive applause..."

Look out!! Now that you've got a taste of fame Webby, there's no turning back. You'll be playing for thousands in no time! I can say I knew you when
As for me.... I distinctly remember a year ago being in Australia, watching all the coverage of Viva Las Vegas on the Gretschpages. Wondering why I'd never gone to VLV when I lived in San Diego and had the chance, wondering if I'd ever get to go..... wondering if I should come back.
One Good Thing for me?
Today I live in San Diego. Tomorrow I'm going to Viva Las Vegas 13.

Snow...that's right...big fluffy flakes falling outside the window. Dressing the kiddos in snowpants and boots today, and then shorts next week. Gotta love Wisconsin!

Another good thing...the principal that was not dealing with a bully issue at school, well, she's off to "early retirement".
Moral of the story: Don't mess with hrg.

Haha, giant spiders are everywhere.. but you'll be safe from the crocs.. except for in Darwin when the rivers flood the crocs can get over the rocks and into the city.. People aren't allowed to swim in the rivers until given the all clear... but we all know crocs can hold their breath for a VERY long time..
HOWEVER, in Queensland we only have beautiful beaches and rainforests... no nasties here

Hello to EVERYBODY at the Lounge! Long time no see... I am sorry to say that I have been busy (not too busy to neglect my only REAL friends here at the HDVDL, but I have... and, for that, I apologize).
I just wanted to share the news that my brother is turning 21 on May 1st, and for his birthday, I got him something that he's been wanting for at least two years.
I will give you a sneak peek (but don't tell!):
CHEERS! to my brother Brandon, and to all of you here at the Lounge!
Take'r easy!
Chris

Happy New Day, Andi! Remember, no mistake is a dumb mistake if you learned something from it.
Enjoy your new book! hrg

Learning this song by J. S. Bach to play it live this summer. Takes a little longer than figuring out the chords of Rockabilly songs...

That one's not even that difficult, I learned it after I saw it in "the pick of destiny" with Jack Black.

I know it's not difficult, but it's beautiful! I've played Bach before and this is way easier than some of his other stuff...

Quite right indeed. Difficulty shouldn't even be an issue as it's very easy to learn the 'notes' to most pieces. For me it's infinitely more important to play anything with class, sincerity and whole bucketful of from the heart substance. A quick scan of youtube can provide you with hundreds of examples where people play all sorts of pieces with varying degrees of difficulty with almost no regard for getting the simplest of basics right.
You should check out Julian Bream if you're interested in pursuing great 'classical' guitar playing. Best of luck with the piece!
