| well.. all that romance 22yrs ago has yielded dividends as it's given me my 2 sons. The loves of my life.
I mean I still am completely in love with my wife and I'm pretty sure she feels the same but having kids.. wow. ..to think I fought for 8yrs to NOT have kids because I was after the rockstar dream, I was a fool cuz now I'm so damn old w/ a 7yr old & a near 14yr old. (the 7 yr old just came over to me as I'm typing and told me my navy blue tshirt doesnt match my black pants even though I got a black fedora on)

| Kids definitely seem to make life better. I don't have any at the moment...which is scary because the "big" 3-0 is about a month away. I just hope I will be mobile enough to show my kids how to play catch, swing a bat, etc....even scarier would be to be out of touch with what is cool.
On a brighter note, it's one day closer to getting out of Omaha for a week lakeside in lovely northern MN. Gotta get my walleye fill!

No offense, but we're posting on 80s top 40, no longer in the public eye, artists forum. We all long ago forgot what was cool. When you have kids you'll be constantly reminded that all of the pop trends are crafted for 13 year olds. Although they don't like to admit it, our musical tastes do rub off. My sixteen year old had a party and the music was playing shuffle mode from her Ipod. She had a lot of explaining to do to her friends when The Mills brothers started playing...she blamed it on me But, I concure, playing catch and swinging a bat with "the boy" and coaching his team is without a doubt, my favorite thing to do ever, period, end of story. At the end of the day, I can't wait to get home to hang out with him. I even turned off the Monteal webcast because he wanted to hit a few before it got dark...and I was ok with that The middle daughter brings a different joy. I pray that you'll one day hear the 7 words that truely make me all warm and fuzzy inside "Daddy, can I bring you a beer?" parents are truley blessed. Crank out as many as you can as soon as you can.

| The only way you might stay out of touch with whats cool is to NOT have kids. Last night on the way to a family gathering we blasted Muse in the car and then played Metallic and Greenday rockband on the big screen tv. Then I spent time talkin to one of my nephews about Jim roots new sig strat.. Now if I hung out with married folk sportin no kiddos and went to socialite parties like some of my peers, THEN i would be a big Square. ps. what vic said..minus the baseball stuff, replace it with football. mwhahaahah ..and yes, every night at bedtime my boys give me a big hug and tell me they love me. That my friend is GOLD!! When they get too cool to do that, I will be a sad sad man. | |
