At one of the Gretsch forums we've got this grammy winning and world record holder guitar player "Pat Matera" who is the lead guitarist in Katy Pery band, who has his own kustom blue Bill-bo gretsch and plays my nocturne pedal on tour... Wow , that´s awesome TV and a very good thing as well. It seems there are a lot of pedals out now...

I was going to end up at starbucks so I feel fortunate to build these instead of dealing with the public at large again. @scotts, think any videos exist of them as a cover band? that'd be cool

| After sweating bullets for several days, finally getting confirmation from my insurance company that my financial responsibility for the largest of my medical bills - my 5 day hospital stay - is $0. That is a very, very good thing. So good I could cry. The big ol' deductible for which I AM responsible, and yesterday's slew of car repairs, however.... not so much. Anybody want to buy some prints or book a photo session? | |

| Went back to kung fu last night for the first time in six weeks - sooo good to be feeling strong again. (Soooo glad I paid for a year in advance when I signed up! ) Sunday night at a gig, got asked about shooting roller derby photos! Sounds like fun!! And, met a fella that makes my heart pound and my head spin... | |

| I asked a friend who really doesn't know me that well for a special request in a very personal matter, and not only did they do it without question or hesitation, but they also included their family. This is TRUE friendship. | |

| Good onya Pete. And good on your overseas friend! (Not me but I reckon I can guess who it is...) My Good Thing today: I became San Diego's Concert Photography "Examiner" (ie, reporter and photographer) for Examiner.com - "the insider source for everything local covering thousands of subjects across hundreds of cities," as they say. Here's my bio and first article. It's just a part time gig covering events I already want to go to, and giving me an excuse to photograph and interview the performers! Payment is based on the amount of traffic my articles get and how many people subscribe to me, in addition to things like if I can refer other people to become examiners or refer businesses to be site sponsors. So if you read my posts and subscribe to me I'll make a few pennies! (Literally. So far I've made 19 cents. Hee hee!) And if there's a topic that you're an "expert" on and want to cover for your city, please PM me so I can refer you | |

| Today is a really good day. Seems to be a turning point from the negative crap that has been happening over the past week or two. Now if it would just get warm life would be grand. | |

| Rehearsing a speech, of sorts, tonight that I plan to give at my uncle's memorial service on Saturday. Never done anything like this before. Have yet to get through the whole thing without breaking down into tears. But it's the least I can do for someone who made our family so special, and was such a warm and caring person.
For those who are even considering, my uncle had his body donated to science. We can only hope that the disease that took his life, will help in the education of future doctors and possibly in finding a cure....for cancer. Even though I'd decided long ago to be an organ donor, I'm reconsidering whether or not that's really enough.
Wish me luck, as I'm about the sappiest person I know and cry at the drop of a hat. And wherever you are Saturday night, raise a glass and have a drink in memory of one the greatest men you'd have ever met!

| Shared so many happy memories of my uncle today with family. I think he would have been happy. The service was not sappy, nor religious, but a sharing of his wit, jokes, and a tribute to his caring, generous nature. While i had the best of intent to be a rock and pay tribute to someone so special in our family I cried through my entire 'speech." However, afterwards my brother got up and shared some stories which also broke him down into tears; the same with my father when he shared stories of my uncles typical wit. There was as much laughter as tears. I can't thank God enough for blessing me with such a wonderful uncle, and I'm so thankful for the time God shared him with us. I think his life was cut too short, and for that I'm mad. But there was a reason. We don't know why, but there was a reason. Time to rest. Understanding is for later. ~nj | |

| This weekend i treated my girl like an a****le. And didn´t know it. I was thinking i`m a raelly cool guy and everybody must be thankful to be with me. What can i say, after a loud cnversation this morning i recognize what she is all doing. And how my words and my selfish acting hurts.
Good thing:I love her and i learned women don´t have to cry.
We men should be thankful for our women who go to work, take care of the house, of the food (for parents: the kids) and all that things. And we play with our Gretsch guitars and gear, our music, our bikes and cars and thinking the world is turning around us.
Maybe anybody think now what stupid words of this crazy german, but i don´t care.

| Six weeks after Dad's Hip Replacement, he's off the walking frame, off the crutches and walking (albeit slowly) without a limp. My Old Man's a freak (in a good way)!!!! He'll be back on the tennis court in no time driving all the old ladies crazy with his slice shots that make the ball go at 90 degrees to the bounce. I love my Dad if you haven't figured that out Another good thing, not Rockabilly but, Ace Frehley concert tomorrow night!!!! I've been waiting for this for a looooooooooong time. Time to don the spacesuit!!! René | |
