TV--awesome! Cool for you to get some national exposure (in a good way...I mean!). Incredibly amazing!
Watching a friend reap the benefits of hard work & dedication? That's my one good thing today!

I hesitantly share this cuz it sounds like ego pounding..but some fun things are happening after 2 yrs of unemployment and general sucky hell with our house in forclosure etc (house is now re secured with a new loan)
or directly on ITUNES in the podcast section. (they let me talk way too long and I thought they were gonna edit it down to 20mins but sheeeeze its all there)
..if anything this stuff has made my Mom proud for Mother's Day

My good thing of the day is that my wife got the confirmation from her principal today that she will indeed have a job next year.
When I first announced her potential job back when I posted the video of my 300 game, we were to assume there would be no speedbumps. Unfortunately, there was a tenured teacher who was interviewed for the position, and, since the awful teacher's union kisses the ass of every tenured teacher, that candidate had to be given a fair chance.
The end of the story is my wife impressed the principal enough to earn herself a position for another year, and didn't need a teacher's union to save her ass.
Now, since we know this position is out of the "full time" status, it is a Long Term Sub job (that will last the whole year), I am certain those ramifications do not require her to pay union dues. So, I am going to see if I can't get her to disband from the teacher's union since the position no longer requires it.
My good thing: My lovely wife.

Hey BK! Congrats to your wife for being an outstanding teacher and wowing the socks off of the principal! I have long thought that the teacher's union keeps bad teachers in place, and doesn't allow talented teachers to properly rise to the top. (but that's just my opinion)
Wishing the both of you the best of luck in trying to get out of the union. It's kind of like the mob...sometimes there's only one way out.
Good luck! hrg
And my good thing of the day: Rainy days and a good book.

On a whim, we went to Casa Bonita. If you've seen the South Park episode featuring the famed Denver landmark, they actually do a good job of capturing the feel of the place. Its unchanged in the 35+ years that I've been going. Amazingly dated and kitch and the food is aweful. But the mariachi band is top notch, they got ciff divers, a gorrila, Black Barts cave, soppapilla's and a very dated arcade. Uber cool place. If you are ever going through Denver, it's a must see.

Today's good thing.
Barring any complications, I am going to do something for the first time today.
I am going to buy a brand spanking new car. Not a used car, but a new damn car.
Bye Bye Paycheck.
