Going to this festival with my girlfriend
I'm super happy because she asked me if I wanted to go. Last year I asked my now Ex Girlfriend and she didn't even think about it for 1 second before saying no.

It looks worse than it is in the video, it's actually a fun event with really cool bands and lots of dancing Don't you like to dance, old man? ;-)
Looking forward to seeing these guys there:

I like watching women dance but most of the men I see dancing in these swing competitions are butt darts

That's most certainly true, but I don't attend the competitions I just spin my girl around cause it's fun and I like moving to good music =D I also don't dance like girl, I don't like these guys hopping around like they're dancing ballet to rock n roll music, I dance like a man

and the world does need more real men dancing! Gene Kelly and Gregory Hines are good examples of such. I would have never landed my wife if I didnt know how to dance. Well, that and my rockabilly band.

The date is set, the band is booked!!!
Okay, I guess I should let you guys in on the joke...
We're not gettin' married. Sorry Tavo, I know that's what you really wanted our "BIG PLANS!!!" to be, I just had to string you along a little bit!!
It's a band. In our LIVING ROOM. It's gonna be AWESOME!!
The "twin bundles of joy" we brought home? Speakers. (That can be used both for our stereo system AND our PA! Rawk!)
And Tavo, I meant it, you and your whole family are invited!!

I didn't think anyone could do that song better than Ray Charles.
I was wrong.
Without question - a Very Good Thing. The best musical thing I've heard in some time. I am a sucker for that boogie woogie piano!
That it happened in Andi's living room makes it that much cooler.
If you saw Andi's post and thought, "I just don't have time to watch a 4:45 YouTube clip right now," do yourself a favor and click on it. It will be the best decision you make all day.
Congrats on the concert venture, Andi! What a great start!

I think one of the coolest things for me about this whole thing is - that's our 1958 Slingerland kit he's playing!! (Well, the snare and cymbals are his). SO cool to hear and see those drums played by a pro!!

Well, it's got nothing to do with music BUT...the (real) Football season starts tonight albeit a pre-season cup, but there's footy on the tele tonight.
I hates the off season!!!!

I was going home after work, about 4:00pm local time, and got stuck in traffic on a two-lane highway going into town. I knew it would take forever to get through, so I whipped around in a bigtime NO-NO ILLEGAL U-TURN.
As soon as I reached about 90 degrees on my way to 180, I saw the cop flip on his lights. BUMMER.
So he came up to my window, said "I had to pull you over man, everyone was looking at me. Why did you pull that illegal U-turn?"
"I'm just tryin' to get home, and I didn't wanna sit through this traffic."
"So you're just gonna turn back and go around?" (at this point, I was sure I was done-for)
"Yep." I reached for my insurance/registration in the glove box, when all of a sudden...
"You know what man? [handing me my ID] Have a nice day."
"Thanks!"
I'd like to think being in uniform helps with that kind of stuff, but it seems like it's a 50/50 shot each time... I've gotten a few speeding tickets here. It still took me about an hour and a half to get home, because traffic was bonkers no matter which way I turned, but after the lucky break, I was in a pretty damn good mood.
