@Brett hey that was cool of you and I forgot about Harmony-central.. thats a legit site.
@ Incinerator Fuzzes are very temperamental because the gain is exponentially more than most drive boxes.. although any drive/fuzz box using transistors are gonna be wacky with a mids hammer pounding them. My soulbender turned into dark mud when I goosed it with the nocturn, like somebody put cellophane over its mouth and shoved it in a box.
You could put it before the Nocturne but being that its a preamp its gonna make everything in that given pedal stand out 3 times more than it does on its own because its coloring the mids.

The Tonebender MKII that I have is a mids monster. When I had the Nocturne before it, it sounded like there was something in the chain that was on a low battery, the sound was very low volume and cutting in and out. With the Nocturne after it was very much like a giant volume increase or perceived to be anyway. The same tone just more of it, and filled out those sonic nooks and crannies that were empty with out the Nocturne.
I'm beginning to think maybe a loop of some sort may be in order some day If I plan on adding any more finnicky germanium or silicon transistor based dirt/fuzz/boost boxes. I feel like I've been missing out with these .

go to foxrox.com site to better understand how to make fuzzes and wahs (transistor based) work better with other pedals.. hopefully that info is still there. I think analogman.com has some too

You big rascal! You make that giant amp look like a lil combo! Good on you mate, makes my heart glad to see a nocturne demo with the RIGHT amp.
btw.. you get a Vince Ray t-shirt. I have to make a proper announcement but the gist of it is that anyone with a nocturne pedal that makes a video JUST like you did gets a free Tshirt(I'm gonna have required guidelines, but this one ya did is pretty much spot on). I'm working on website with a video section that will host all these videos. They mean a lot to me and the family as we feel that this gives an insight to players around the world and we all benefit from getting to know one another and our passion for great roots music.

Thx, Tavo. My pleasure. I`m not so satisfied with the sound of the vid. . maybe I`m doin an update with a different cam. But with a Strat the Nocturne rocks.! i`m looking now for a Bluesband...
I made the video in german for all the cats out there who don´t know HVL. And it´s easier for me to explain it in German. In english you`re all do it much better.
@Pete, awesome video and very cool sound with your amp...i`m a bit jealously. Now i want a new amp...
Waiting for the 1st review from japan...

I dont even know what to do about getting into japan? Japan has no Nocturne. (but japan has plenty of re301s!)
After 165 Nocturne pedals sold, not one from has gone to the east.

dont scare me! The irony is that the re-301 was "created" in japan (although the tape echo was invented by charlie watkins in 58' others say diff. )... It's preamp was reverse engineered and re-voluted here in the USA.
..maybe the Nocturne should stay where it's patent presently does

thats very cool and good to hear it actually clip the amp.
question: Can we have one more with that amp? Without reverb? (in that amp I believe the verb while being spring is driven by a solid state opamp at least partially and your tube signal splits over to the verb when its engaged)
also.. where is the tuxedo? powder blue with lime green ruffles

here is Deke Dickerson's Nocturne.. just sharing Pete's (here in upland) painting prowess. Its actually a pineapple sunburst, but i cant capture the burst right.

sweet! when I get with mine I'll meet with some cool guitarists here in munich and I'll let them try it out. I really want to get this guy to try it! He plays his 59!!! White Falcon or his 59!!! 6120 through either a 62-64 Blonde Bassman or a cool Fender (insert name here) reverb that he put some cool sparkle drumm material on! Also has a Re-301 but doesn't use it live anymore. I think he might be interested to try it cant copy pics from their website tons of pics here: http://www.crazeecatmusic.de/ATOMIC/files/crew.html http://www.crazeecatmusic.de/ATOMIC/files/crybaby.html http://www.crazeecatmusic.de/ATOMIC/main.html

that's a sweet finish!
something about a nice copper-y sparkly metallic finish that is super sweet! The pin stripes really accent nicely.
Now I sound like I belong on HGTV
